We stayed here for our recent microwedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The space was beautiful & spacious —- plenty of room for us and our small group to relax and celebrate. The views were stunning and created the most peaceful backdrop for our special weekend. On top of that, the host, Tiffany, was incredibly responsive and accommodating, which made everything so easy and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend the thunder butte lodge!
We absolutely loved staying here. It’s even more beautiful than the pictures show. Great for a family get together in the mountains. Definitely recommend.
We had a small get together at this property and it was amazing! Breathtaking views and had everything we could need as far as amenities. Definitely would love to come back!! Property manager was helpful and communicative.
This was a wonderful house in a beautiful setting. It accommodated 22 of us very comfortably. It was very well stocked for cooking and had ample space for food and beverages!
Such a great property! We had a microwedding with our family staying over and a few friends coming over! Great space and awesome amenities! Everything that we needed and more!
Our time staying at this house was amazing. Our guests loved it. The house was extremely clean and tidy. It was very large and accommodating for so many people. The views are beautiful. The house is beautiful. Everything from the check in process to check out was so easy. Tiffany was a great communicator the entire way and made our stay perfect.
Our family reunion was a hit with all who attended. We are thankful we had a meeting location that could house some of us as well as have the rest of the family there. That being said, the listing is not clear about the event fees that will be imposed if you do have more than the stated 23 guests staying in the house and
Our wedding experience was truly unforgettable, thanks in large part to the spacious and accommodating house we chose as our venue. The back patio was transformed into the cutest reception area, with string lights creating a magical ambiance for our evening of dancing. The house’s amenities, including the hot tub, sauna, and steam shower, were perfect for relieving the stress of organizing our big day.
Excellent all around, beginning with the unparalleled communication and responsiveness of property management, all the way to the attention to detail surrounding our small wedding plans. Location is beyond gorgeous, allowing for privacy and feelings of closeness with your guests. Kitchen amenities could not have been more supportive for our small wedding, rehearsal dinner and reception. Thank you so much for helping make our specialist of days more special, filling the days with lifetime memories.
We spent a week here and this place is great for large groups. 45 minutes - 1 hr from some great tourist spots (Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods). Huge kitchen and dining area that accommodated our group of 19 people from 5 different families. Plenary of private bedrooms and bathrooms. No AC, but the cool mountain breeze through the open windows on 85+ degree days kept the house comfortable. Very hilly on the property with some great places to walk around. The fire pit was great at night. The hot tub was huge and clean. We would definitely stay again! Thanks to a great host.
My family, a group of 21, with ages ranging from 6 to 70 years old thoroughly enjoyed the lodge for our Christmas holiday. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas with 3 large Christmas trees and a few smaller trees around the house. The spacious lodge was perfect for our large group and the amenities offered were such a nice touch. The house had beautiful views from every balcony. Our family was concerned about visiting Colorado in the winter due to cold temps and snow but the lodge was equipped with hydronic flooring which kept the over 7,000 sq ft home warm and comfortable. The host was very helpful and always responsive. This family trip was a success largely due to the lodge!
This VRBO is awesome!!! The actual property itself is amazing. The views are spectacular. The rooms are way nicer than the photos make them seem in my opinion. The dining room makes eating eggs and bacon feel luxurious, and the whole home in general feels both fancy and homey. We hosted our small wedding of 40 people here and it could not have been a better venue. The thing that stuck out however was Tiffany’s support. We had 2 feet of unexpected snow and Tiffany was gracious enough to stay in communication and help us with plows. Not to mention helping with our 101 questions leading up to the wedding. I highly recommend this property and the management.
The property is remote and beautiful. Plenty big for my large family. It's a beautiful home with a ton of amenities that we thoroughly enjoyed. Loved the big dining area. It could use a pantry in the kitchen however with some more of the basics like thin foil and Saran wrap. The extra refrigerators were wonderful and the bar downstairs, away from the upstairs bedrooms allowed the adults a place to play while the children slept undisturbed. The toilet in bedroom 6 was broken and the tub didn't drain. There are leaks in one of the on-suite bath sink and shower upstairs as well. We still enjoyed our stay very much.
Guests were amazed! A perfect setting for a small intimate wedding. Plenty of room for parents, grandparents, stepparents and siblings. Every one raved about the rooms and amenities.
One dead bird found on a outdoor balcony. We think it crashed into a window. Sauna would not heat up. No other issues found or reported.
To say this was my best VRBO stay to date would be an understatement. As my future wife and I planned our wedding, the host Tiffany, could not have been more flexible or more helpful in the wedding process. Tiffany recommended excellent vendors (great for someone coming out of state to get married) and ultimately just remained available for questions and concerns as we planned our big day.
We had guests ranging from 2 years old to 70 years old and everyone had a great week enjoying the beauty of the Thunder Butte Lodge.
Would recommend for any large get together.

We had our wedding here and were able to have the entire wedding party stay in the house with us. The entire weekend was perfect! The house manager was always reachable and very helpful to any questions or concerns. The views were amazing and the house was gorgeous. We loved being able to stay here and have our wedding in a setting with amazing views. The house let us use their tables and chairs which helped so much! Definitely recommend staying here for your next family gathering or small event. There is also no AC in the house, which I was concerned about at first, but the weather was beautiful all weekend (70-80s) and the evenings were chilly which allowed for a nice breeze to come through the windows and balcony doors at night. If you’re having a wedding/party/event, the pub was a big hot spot for us. We all hung out downstairs and played pool every night. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thank you to Tiffany for being such a great host!
Perfect Mountain Getaway for Family Reunion and Micro Wedding!
Our family of 15 along with 2 of our close friends stayed at Thunder Butte Mountain Lodge for a few days for a family vacation. It was also to celebrate our wedding. The place is well taken care of and the view is breathtaking. We never got tired of waking up to mountains in the backyard with a cup of coffee in hand and fall breeze brushing through our hair. There's plenty of things to explore and keep everyone entertained. Let it be a small yet steep hike or a dip in the hot tub. Downtown Woodland Park is also just 20min away with groceries stores and plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, to try out.
Some items in the house did need repairs and the site manager Tiffany always provided us with prompt responses. Tiffany definitely made sure that our stay was as comfortable and memorable as it could be. We really appreciate her help and communications.
We can't wait to be back in the future for a reunion.
We just had an extended family vacation with 19 family members and had the most amazing time. The lodge was perfect for our needs and so spacious. The property was amazing and if we weren’t off site, we were hiking on the property or enjoying the other amenities. We did plenty of site seeing during the week, but also enjoyed down time at the Lodge. Coming from the east coast, the mountains were just amazing and the weather was perfect. The home had so much space. We could either gather together or spread out if we wanted to. The kitchen was well stocked and maybe had the best view in the house :o) We often found all of us in the kitchen while preparing food because it was so inviting! The huge dining room was stunning and a great gathering place. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. We spent time in the amphitheater star gazing on clear nights. We can’t say enough about the Lodge and Tiffany, the host! She was so incredibly helpful and attentive and if we ever make it back to Woodland Park, we will definitely stay here again. If you get a chance to stay in this amazing house…be sure to fill the hummingbird feeder by the fire pit. You won’t be disappointed. They kept us entertained every day!
The description and photos of this property do not do it justice. This place is spectacular!
1 1/2 hours from Denver. Beautiful and easy drive. We had a family reunion with 8 families in the lodge, a few that stayed in woodland park and plenty of room to park an rv. Everyone was comfortable in their spacious beautiful rooms.
So many great places to gather. The pub was a huge hit with bar, fridge, sink, plenty of seating, beautiful pool table and large patio with propane fire pit. Lodge provided back up propane tanks. We also enjoyed the large firepit. Bring lawn chairs as those are not provided. The hot tub was clean hot with a beautiful view. The steam room was amazing as well as the sauna and a nice place to exercise. Games and toys provided for the kids. Beautiful large deck’s with views like a postcard. Beautiful stadium area that we used for family photos. Even found a chalk board and had chalk markers to make a sign for photos.
Cooking was so easy with double oven, 8 burner stove, 2 fridges. Property had a ton of spices, dishes, pots, pans, really everything you could think of. 2 smokers with pellets and a grill.
Everything in this loge was so beautiful and attention to detail was obvious. Also 2 large washers and dryers.
Tiffany was so great to work with. Answering questions quickly. We really have no complaints and would 100% recommend this property for any large gathering.
