Historic Olde Poste in Cascade
Base your vacation from OLDE POSTE COTTAGE -- site of Cascade's old post office in the heart of historic Cascade, at the foot of the Pike's Peak Highway. This Victorian cottage, restored and furnished to reflect its genteel past, will return you to an earlier time in Cascade's history when folks came up Ute Pass to vacation among the mountain Ponderosa, away from the bussle of city life. The livingroom walls display prints and photos of Cascade and Olde Poste Cottage from the Ute Pass Historical Society, as well as chronicling the drama of the American Post from the Revolution, through the exciting Pony Express, to the color and charm of the stamps and postcards found in today's U.S. Post Office. The cottage's bedrooms are lovingly decorated to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
Perfect for four adults and up to three kids, or three couples, this historical Victorian cottage will be your headquarters for both summer and winter activities in the Manitou/Colorado Springs and the Pike's Peak region. (see the AREA ACTIVITIES' button on our Happy Trails webpage for great links and discount coupons).
The Cottage is completely furnished with everything you need to be comfortable on your vacation. You'll want to return again and again!

'We love the Olde Poste Cottage! It was so much more cozy and warm than any hotel! It was fantastic being able to cook meals for the whole family. Can't find a better location; we were never in the car too long on our way to touristy stuff. Thanks for providing a wonderful place for our family to make memories in.' Wegers, Magallons & Brantleys - TX & FL “We had an AWESOME time on our vacation! The cottage was a perfect home-away-from-home. The location here is excellent and the owners were very helpful (yes, we tried the hike at Crags!) and attentive. We grilled out twice during our stay and enjoyed meals at “home” each night of our stay. We loved the attractions too – Garden of the Gods, Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds, Cog Railway, Seven Falls. Also went horseback riding and whitewater rafting with Noah’s Ark in Buena Vista, and saw Royal Gorge and Molly Kathleen Mine in Cripple Creek. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!” Matt & Martha Cummings & Family – Memphis, TN

My family and I had such a nice Christmas in this cottage. It was clean, had everything we needed, and was close to all of the areas best attractions. And a beautiful view of the mountains!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
This was perfect for our family! The location was amazing. We had enough space to spread out. We spent our evenings playing games in the cabin and our days out exploring. The host was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
We spent 3 nights for a family wedding. The location was convenient for access to Colorado Springs, without having to be in the city. Great access to Pikes Peak Highway. Enjoyed the Wines of Colorado Creekside Dinning was an excellent nearby restaurant. Great place to stay with family. Neat place to stay in an 1860’s historic post office converted to cabin.Recommend if you like to stay at unique places.
Rustic, homely, suitably located to hit all Colorado Springs major points of interest within 15min. All amenities provided.
$$$ security deposit could dissuade many despite every other aspect being optimal.

Old post vacation
The location was very nice, we did have to replace the battery in the smoke detector and we only had a partial roll of paper towels that wasn’t sufficient for our stay. We appreciated the new coffee pot, and enjoyed the wildlife that came up to the yard.
The outside of the property needs some work however the inside was cozy, clean, quiet and quaint. There were enough towels and the kitchen was adequate for us. The bathroom was small but not a problem for two adults. It was perfect for us. The location was excellent for Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak and others. We did not have to spend a lot of time on the road traveling to different places. Sitting on the porch, feeling a light breeze and viewing the mountains was very relaxing. We would stay here again if we ever return to the area.
First of all, I want to say, Aaron is super friendly and would do anything to make sure everything is okay. I will be back. and a side note, Cascade is close to Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, Woodland Park, Divide fish and chips. Pikes Peak is across the street. Thank you for sharing. Vince
We had 7 in our group ranging from 11-65. It was a little bit older home, which we love because it is cozy! We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the mountains. It was clean (obviously being a tad older, it isn't immaculate, but that is part of the charm we loved!) We utilized the grill (There was charcoal provided for the grill), the coffee pot, stove, freezer/fridge, microwave, fans, hair dryer, nice shower head, and smart TV. They also had some games that my kids played. The beds fit all of us and were comfortable. There was enough space for all of us to keep out things. It was easy to access from the main road and was close to everything we wanted to do in Colorado Springs! Check in and Check out was easy. Communication was fast and helpful.
The Olde Poste was a perfect central location for all the activities we had planned. Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak, Fossil Beds, and Royal Gorge were all within minutes or a little over an hour. Take the Gold Belt Scenic Tour down to Canon City and then continue south to the Great Sand Dunes-perfect round trip back up through Pueblo (Cactus Flower mexican restaurant was fabulous) and back to Cascade. The Doughnut Mill in Woodland Park served up a wonderful doughnut ala mode! Loved the view from the porch looking east (perfect in the morning for coffee and sunrise lovers) however it is right off Hwy 24 so you do have car noise but also ease of getting right on and heading to your adventure. Green Mountain Falls is close by, and The Pantry restaurant breakfast did not disappoint! The house itself was comfortable for a family of four and the owner Aaron was quick to respond to any question. Definitely would come back again when heading to the area!
