Amazing location

We were so happy with our stay. The view was phenomenal. Communication was easy and the whole process was seamless. We were close enough to all the places we wanted to visit, but far enough for a peaceful getaway.

Absolute peace and quiet with an amazing view

This is the second time that I’ve stayed in the cabin and looking forward to the next. Amazing view from the deck and if it should happen to rain, just move up a step to a large covered deck. The view is amazing. Everything you need is provided, and the cabin and the area is spotless.

Loved our stay

This was such a great getaway. We really loved the location. Even though there were other cabins in the area, we could not see any from the front deck. Most of the time there was total silence. There were no lights anywhere outside so at night the stars were AMAZING! Overall we loved staying here, we hope to go back again.

UNEMCUMBERED

We absolutely enjoyed our time at this cabin. It was peaceful, serene and had a stunning view of the mountains. Nestled in the woods between Woodland Park and Cripple Creek made it convenient for those trips to town. It is located close to several different points of interest also. We would recommend this destination for anybody looking for a spot to unwind and decompress from the daily grind and enjoy all the wonders nature has to offer.

Peace and Quiet

Another wonderful stay at Altitude with Attitude! Our third time here and we would love to come again. So beautiful and peaceful, and just the getaway these two teachers needed! An issue with the cleaners resulted in us walking in to cleaning that had not been done, but the owners themselves drove up and got things well-cleaned for us, which we so appreciated. Thanks for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!

The view!

Cabin is very nice and in a great location! The view off the deck is AMAZING!! I spent a lot of time out there. Cabin was perfect for my wife & I. Only complaints are: runner had what appeared to be quite a bit of dog hair on it. Oven needs a cleaning bad. Other than those small issues 👍

Perfect Stay in Rainbow Valley

This was our 2nd stay at the property. We stayed in 2021, were amazed and always wanted to return. It has everything we need. Close enough to Colorado Springs, but far enough away for peace and solitude. There are plenty of hiking opportunities nearby like The Crags, Pancake Rocks and Horsethief Valley. And little gem of Florissant Fossil Beds. We did take a day trip to Royal Gorge Park which is well worth it and an easy, beautiful drive. We loved, loved the deck and view of Sentinel Peak. We spent as much time as we could there! Only recommendation is to have a first aid kit in the cabin. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Amazing Week at The Cabin

My husband and I stayed a week at the cabin and we were pleasantly surprised at our entire stay. We have not had the best luck with vacation rentals, but we will definitely be back to this one. Cabin pictures on the site are spot on, the views, the interior and the area are awesome. The WI-FI was something we were not expecting and we enjoyed being able to keep in touch with family and appreciated the selection of TV channels. The cabin is stocked with just about anything you could possibly need for a home away from home. The only downside is the steep driveway, so glad we brought our 4x4 pickup, but hubby said our AWD SUV would have made it just fine. Totally recommend this jewel and hope we get to return soon, THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR CABIN AND THESES VIEWS WITH US!

Be Aware of the Driveway

We have stayed in this cabin before - 12 years ago. The cabin is still a cozy and inviting place to stay and the view from the front deck is jaw dropping beautiful. However, we had trouble getting up the drive due to huge 6-8 inch deep ruts at the bottom of the drive. Our Toyota Highlander could not find enough level ground to get traction. We had some minor damage to the car. Until the driveway is graded, we recommend only vehicles with 4 wheel drive and high clearance. The driveway incident really put a damper on our stay in this beautiful cabin.

Spectacular view on the deck!

What a beautiful little cabin. Although you're really not far from anything (town) it feels as though you're staying off the grid, secluded and private. The interor is decorated perfectly and the home is very comforable for a couple and their dog. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything for our cooking needs. I would suggest a better spatula however. For us, the deck was the highlight of the home.Great views!!! and they even supply a pair of binoculars to use.I was a little disappointed that some of the furniture pictured in the ad was not what was inside or outside the home. We were also a little surprised to learn.... after making the reservation, that the water supply is from a cistern. But! Not a deal breaker......because they supply plenty of drinking/cooking water. All and all we highly recommend staying here. It is a wondetful little gem and we cant wait to book again!

Great Getaway Cabin!

I booked this cabin for my wife and I for a few days and we absolutely loved it. The view is amazing and the quiet/calmness was very relaxing. The driveway is steep, but I was driving a Chevy Malibu and had no problems so no worries on that. Obviously there is no service but use the Wi-Fi for calls. Wifi was good enough to stream movies, just had to buffer here and there. The central heating inside is decent, but if it's under 40 outside, the inside will get cold. The wood stove for firewood does perfect keeping the cabin warm. The only complaint I have is that the water in the shower does not get hot and will only stay warm for about two minutes and then it's back to being ice cold. Overall, this cabin was exactly what we were wanting and I would recommend to any couple or small family!

A few highs but more lows

When we arrived at the property at 4:00 PM for check in, there was no key in the lockbox. The property owners finally arrived at 6:30 PM. Sitting in our car for 2.5 hours in the snow, was not ideal. The snowy, steep driveway was difficut to get up - even in our 4x4. It had not been cleared. My sons shoveled snow for an hour+ plus put down rock salt to help us eventually get up the driveway. Whoever stayed in the property before us, left trash in an outisde bin so animals had gotten into it and trash was strewn everywhere. When the property owners finally arrived and let us in, the cabin heat had been turned off and the temp was in the 40s inside. The property owners also went outside to pick up all the trash. They brought in wood to help heat up the cabin. The Cabin's view was the BEST part of the cabin. We also had large mule deer around the property frequently and that was really awesome to see. The shower water temp was cold - so on a few mornings we just washed our hair in the kitchen sink. (Shower temp a big issue in the winter.) There's no dishwasher or clothes washer or dryer on the property. The pull out coach was comfortable - according to our sons. The main bedroom bed was also comfortable - though it was difficult to regulate the heat in that room. The owners eventually offered us $50 for our delayed check in. Overall, a pretty below average experience.

My wife and I stayed here for 21 days. The cabin was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. The wifi was a bit of a nuisance, (slow). The wood stove was awesome, overnight temperatures were just at or below freezing. We learned quickly that the cabin heated up easily just burning two logs. The property was well secluded and views were awesome. Activities were abundant and accessible. We also found going to Victor for laundry was more friendly and personal, owners were on sight. We will definitely return for another stay.

Property was great and I had a relaxing time! My pup and I had some nice walks along the property and it was great to be in a nice mountain home and out of the Denver heat. But I had questions for the host a few days before traveling and they were non-responsive to a message on the app and the phone number they listed had a full voicemail box. In addition, the site details had disappeared from the VRBO website. I had to contact VRBO to get in touch and even then the communication wasn't great. After contacting VRBO a second time, the website issue got fixed and a host quickly contacted me. To the host's credit, they then stayed in touch with me daily to make sure things went smoothly. Hopefully, whatever communication issues they were having have been resolved.
