Waterfront with spectacular view, close to restaurants and bars
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay in this clean, beautiful waterfront property. The location was fantastic, and we loved watching the swan and osprey go about their days from the front porch. We were two couples (ages 45-75!), and the place and town were the perfect, relaxing getaway. "
"Great location and view of the river. The staff were also friendly. However, the beds were hard, and the bed comforter/blanket was thin and rough. There was also a musty smell in the room, due to the building's age. The window did not open, so that didn't help with the smell or air flow. There is a desk and chair in the room, but the height of the battered chair was so low, that you couldn't use it to sit at the table (it couldn't be adjusted, either). Plenty of parking and the location to the promenade and shops were excellent."
Sunnyside Up - Small Dog Friendly Waterfront Cottage
8/10 Good
"To start, I would go back. It was clean and a lovely, quiet location. The yard was great for my pup and the dock was amazing to sip coffee on. I really did enjoy my stay once the hot water kicked in. The host was responsive and accommodating.Important things to note: if it is cold outside, bundle up- the hot water did not work the first day (and never did for the bathroom sink), nor did the heat in the bedroom. This place is COLD and DRAFTY, think semi-camping. The space heater works great, the bathroom heater helped with the bedroom temp, and covering surfaces (walls and floors with pillows and towels in the main area) was a game changer. Also, I’ve never been to a rental without a washer dryer so I missed that fact (not a complaint, that was my bad, just highlighting it for others)"
Crab Shack in Town-Walk to beach and restaurants-Sleeps 6
10/10 Excellent
"The Crab Shack felt as comfy as home but with better taste. We loved the fun color scheme and each of the bedrooms felt like a serene retreat. The living room had plenty of space for watching a movie and our little karaoke dance party. Those recliners are absolute heaven! Great info provided for local spots to visit. We had a blast. Awesome hosts. Easy check in/out. 10/10"
"The host was very responsive. The home was nice for our family trip. We had to shorten the stay due to incoming weather. It was well worth the price and a very nice get away. We will stay at this home again for future Colonial Beach trips. "
