A great little getaway
A very well setup cosy place with some well thought out renovations. We loved the location and view across the inlet to the ranges and the birdsong when we woke up in the morning. The setting is amazing, on a spit tucked in amongst the Totara.

Peaceful spot
We had a lovely and peaceful time, watching the tide go in and out, revisiting Wharariki and Farewell Spit. Plenty of rain but it was still great to be there. The bach and location were exactly as described. (We appreciated the comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchen!)

Great place to telax
This is the third time we have stayed. We find the position very relaxing with lots of bird life and walks along the beach. The size of the Bach is ideal for us and is very well equipped.

Cozy Genuine Batch
We had the best relaxation time here! We had an adventure in the Kajaks, and most of all Wonderful sleeps in good beds, kitchen well equipped and clean, practical environments. Best wishes The Waimarama Chalets team ❤️

Great Stay
The property has everything you need. Books, DVD's and firewood were thoughtfully provided for those rainy days, and canoes for beach weather. A very peaceful setting amongst the trees so easy to destress.

Great spot for exploring Golden Bay, or just to stay put
This was our third stay at Gunado, it's a great spot for a break. Ideally located for visiting places like Wharariki, Milnethorpe Bush, or Westhaven Inlet, but equally easy to just sit on the deck and watch the tide come in and out

Perfect Bach
We love this bach because it is spacious, clean,well equpped, and quiet, with easy access to the beach. This was our second stay and were lucky with both the weather and the tides - the swimming is just magical at high tide. First holiday in my life when I have done absolutely nothing! Feel revived and ready for the challenges of 2024. Will definitely stay again.

We loved the stay at Gunado
The property is beautiful and well set up for summer or winter. It is comfortable classy kiwiana and very homely and had everythimg we needed. The setting is stunning with an outlook to the inlet and the bush clad hills behind. The beach accross the road is so peaceful and Golden Bay gorgeous with sometimes only us on it. Thank you for a great stay.

Just what we were looking for!
This property is set in a wonderful location and is very quiet! It was very clean, comfortable and everything was as advertised. It's a short drive to Collingwood where there is a grocery, coffee bar, and a great pub/restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay in Jennifer’s well equipped and comfortable cottage. We enjoyed the birdsong and views of the estuary. Close to Farewell spit and Takaka by car. A lovely place to spend a few quiet days .

Peaceful Hideaway
The Bach was clean and provides very generous space for two people. It has a large bedroom and good sized renovated bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to work in. Unfortunately, the weather was not at its best but this did not affect the enjoyment of our stay. Plenty of bird life and coastal surroundings offer lovely walks along the beach and swimming. Will definitely book again.

We had an very relaxing, comfortable stay at Gunado. It is in a gorgeous, nature filled location and is a clean, well kitted out house. Plenty to do at the house and immediate vicinity. Great base to explore further afield too.

Perfect cosy cottage for 3 adults, great clam gathering, wonderful bird life. Fab. friendly, helpful host. To complete the booking had to deal with Book a Bach (NZ?) and Vbro and Expedia. Totally confusing, responses didn't answer my questions, still not sure that we got the options we paid for, in fact we were just charged not offered options!- definitely NOT recommending or using this service again.

Perfect stay in every way! Gunado is located on the estuary side of a Pakawau and the view is constantly changing. In my opinion even more interesting than the beach side! The house was super clean and well stocked with everything needed for a super comfy stay. We all loved it, my kids enjoyed the kayaks and playing badminton on the lawn. We loved the quintessential Kiwi bach and all the Kiwiana. Our stay was a great pre Christmas reset. The kayaks were an added bonus as it allowed us to get on the water as it wasn't quite warm enough to swim.
