Really impressed with our stay here. Central location and yet a very quiet and spacious, comfortable room. Loved the historic building and old furniture/pharmacy artefacts in the communal areas whilst the bedroom was modern, clean, quiet and with excellent air con which was needed! Staff were very helpful, including not only ordering us a taxi but also walking us to the meeting point (as the guesthouse is on a pedestrianised road) and waiting with us to check we got it. We knew this was a guesthouse with limited amenities but there were ample cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. Would stay here again.

A charming hotel with easy access to the main area of interest. Our room was large and newly renovated with great amenities and facing onto the main tourist area. Easy access to most places of interest including the university, which we were able to explore in the evening and during the day.

Loved everything about the property. There was no real good place for us and a couple we were traveling with to get together and share stories about our trip or have a drink besides the rooftop terrace. It rained everyday while we were there. We had a very nice room, clean and very comfortable.

My wife loved the property. The lobby as you enter from the street is very unique and interesting. It had a nice kitchenette on the main floor. The location is central to the tourist area of Coimbra. Overall it was a nice stay.

Very charming boutique hotel occupying the space of an old pharmacy, thus the name. The lobby still has many of the old compounds in their original glass jars lightly back lit giving the room a warm glow. Very welcoming. The room was very nice. Large bed with a comfortable spring mattress. Importantly the shower was great—strong water pressure and warm water. Staff was friendly and helpful. Suggested some excellent restaurants and we can confirm they know their local area.

The overnight stay at Pharmacia Guesthouse was a great find. I was very impressed that I cane across this location when I visited Coimbra. Very nicely located in the center of the Main Street. The guesthouse was very safe, clean, spacious and easy access to the city. The room was large enough to relax, Juan was great with details for dinner. Highly recommended! This was our best stay in Portugal.

A Wonderful Stay in Coimbra

The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was great. João was there to greet us at check in and was very helpful throughout our stay. He's a tremendous asset to the hotel. We briefly met the owner when he came one afternoon and we wish him well in his endeavour. I'd definitely stay there again.
