"We were cautious because of prior ratings but the hotel turned out to be outstanding. I would highly recommend it, very clean, good communication I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10 and a great walking location."

"We had during our stay moisture next to the bed, that made us sick, ants & a scorpion in the room, 3 electricity blackouts and 3x loss of all the food in the fridge. Additionally to this during the whole stay we were living on a construction site as the owner planed to extend the property. With this circumstances the owner was not ready to reduce price or to find an arrangement that was convenient for us."

"This was a short but sweet treat to one of the most beautiful coastline of Costa Rica. The staff was super friendly, everybody was helpful, accommodating, supportive, and the condition of the property as well as the food of the restaurant was very good. We traveled with our two year old toddler, and the stuff always was very kind and friendly with her while practicing for Spanish.
The coastline is beautiful, we arrived after our weather event, so the ocean was rougher than normal. Despite that hiking around the beach, walking to town was easy and beautiful.
We have a chance to visit nearby beaches, waterfalls river outlets in Cabo Blanco or within a 25 to 30 minute drive. For the most part, the roads were in good shape despite sections not having asphalt.
There was not a lot of people around the area, which also made it quite pleasant. This hotel is a gem in the region and one that also supports the local community. Highly recommended and can’t say enough good things about the place.
I guess the only two things that we would suggest is to come prepare for the mosquitoes, I’ll make sure you have good reef shoes as the rocks are pretty sharp as you walk along the different beaches.
A suggestion for the hotel would be to provide a better map of the parking location and transportation from Montezuma. This is a slightly peaky comment, as the majority of people would have no problem getting there."
"My stay at Selva resort was absolutely amazing. The property is beautiful, spotless, and exceptionally well maintained.
Fernando, the concierge was outstanding. He went above and beyond to help us find the best restaurants, recommend the most beautiful beaches, and guide us to the best places to visit in the area.
The facilities were extremely clean, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Everything exceeded my expectations.
This was truly the best vacation I’ve ever had. I already miss it and am looking forward to returning next year. I will definitely be back!
Thank you, Fernando and the entire Selva resort team, for making our stay so memorable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
"My daughter and I planned a girls trip and we couldn’t have been happier. The staff, shoutout to Sebastian and Karla, could t have been more knowledgeable and helpful. Harry the GM gave us a lot of good suggestions for local spots. We went fishing and caught mahi mahi and yellow fin and Chef made us some amazing meals from that catch. Memories for a lifetime!"
"Me quede en el hotel por segunda vez y la calidad se sigue manteniendo. Habitación limpia y ordenada. El desayuno es muy completo; y la atención super buena."
"A gem within Santa Teresa; the location, staff (Nicole, Jerry and Jeff) and value are superb.
The pool is beautiful and the rooms super comfortable (Amazing beds).
Highly recommend it!"
"Emerald Abode was truly magical. A little hidden piece of paradise on the side of a mountain jungle. It almost feels like a treehouse. Overlooking the beautiful crashing Pacific ocean. We literally chose to vacation in the Santa Teresa area because of the attraction of staying at this special, unique lodging. We loved watching surfers! And were delighted to see a family of Capuchin monkeys one morning for a couple of hours right in front of our place. One of my favorite things was hearing Howler monkeys, especially in the mornings. We spent one entire day in the infinity plunge pool which is private only to this dwelling. The owner host April was wonderful. She gave us many suggestions and thought of everything! The place was so clean. Even riding the quad up and down the steep hill was fun to us. We loved cooking in the open air kitchen, and sitting in swinging chair and lying in hammock. Bed inside and beds outside by pool were comfortable! When you want some AC the bedroom can get nice and cool. We loved ziplining at Mal Pais and exploring the local restaurants. Locals were very friendly and fun. The ceviche is SO good! And the drinks at the beachfront restaurants are wow unique with fresh fruits. It was all an amazing adventure. I so hope to go back someday. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"
"I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
After a 20+ hour travel day, we arrived exhausted and unfortunately encountered a bug issue on our first night. What impressed us most wasn’t the problem itself, but how the staff handled it. They immediately took our concerns seriously and, without us even asking, upgraded us to their best villa, which was significantly nicer and more expensive than our original booking.
From that point on, the team went above and beyond to make us comfortable. They regularly checked on us, treated the room multiple times, provided extra towels for the doors, and did everything possible to make us feel safe and welcome.
The hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional. The staff helped arrange tours, excursions, transportation, shuttle services, and even connected us with a reliable taxi driver. Everyone was friendly, personable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience.
A special thank you to Cynthia and Shami, who were incredibly helpful before and during our stay. They answered questions, helped us prepare for the trip, and were always available when we needed assistance. They even had breakfast ready early for us on mornings when our excursions started before breakfast service officially opened.
What could have been a rough start turned into an amazing stay because of the kindness, professionalism, and dedication of the staff. We left feeling cared for and would happily stay here again."
