Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Co Ong?
The best area to stay in Co Ong is the vicinity of the main port, as this is where most of the accommodation and services are located.

This area is the primary arrival and departure point for visitors to Con Dao and offers a practical base for exploring the island. You'll find a selection of guesthouses and a few larger hotels here, along with local eateries and shops. It's a convenient spot for those arriving by ferry or those who want to be close to the main transport hub.

For couples looking for a more secluded and luxurious experience, the resorts scattered along the island's coastline, particularly those near beautiful beaches like Dat Doc, are an excellent choice.
When is the best time to go to Co Ong?
The best time to go to Co Ong is during the dry season, which runs from November to April, ensuring pleasant weather for your visit.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny skies and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 25°C to 30°C. This period avoids the heavy rainfall and higher humidity of the wet season, making it ideal for enjoying Co Ong's outdoor attractions and beaches.

For travellers planning activities like exploring the coastline, relaxing on the sand, or visiting local markets, the dry season offers the most agreeable conditions.
