Historical and Away from it all

Our family of 8 was very comfortable at the Steele Waters Lodge. It’s an older home with lots of character. It is well off the beaten path- which we enjoyed- but a 25 minute to grocery stores and most conveniences. It’s gorgeous country!

A piece of heaven among devastation!

We were so lucky to a such an amazing place to stay while we were down helping with hurricane relief! Not only was it gorgeous but the perfect place to unwind after working everyday. Sitting on the porch after and unwinding was what we needed to be able to work the next day! Our hostess was the best with everything we needed there plus more! She made us dinner and desert and left it for us and it was delicious! We will be returning with our family in the spring to stay again at this little piece of heaven!

Tranquil and Beautiful Scenery

We stayed here for our taekwondo tournament in Asheville. It was a little longer drive than expected, but worth it to us. Everyone felt at home and had a chance to relax. We felt closer to the stars. We saw deer, turkeys, and sheep. We visited the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and a waterfall. Hiking is there for those that want to. The host is very responsive and caring about her guests.

Fabulous vacation at Steele Waters Logde

Can’t say enough fabulous things about Steele waters lodge Comfortable, Relaxing, Peaceful place. The Host is fantastic very thoughtful responds quickly. The home is stocked with everything you would need a real home away from home with thoughtful extras from the host. From stuff for s’mores to laundry detergent to bandaids. The home is in a perfect location. We spent a day in Maggie Valley a day hiking in th Smokie Mountain National Park spent our evenings relaxing listening to the creek and just peacefulness at the house. The highlight of our trip was hiking Max Patch to watch the Sunset it’s a must see too beautiful to describe in words!! Had a wonderful time with family will definitely revisit Steele Waters Lodge

A great experience!

Me and my family had the best time together here! It was so comfortable and cozy! Loved having coffee on the front porch in a rocking chair while listening to the creek! There is a library/game room where you can find games and a big comfy chair for reading. There are two living rooms, and a dining room (with a beautifully painted barn-quilt type floor). We loved listening to the music on the speakers throughout the house. The rooms were full of detail and there were many historical accents throughout. In the past, we have stayed in nice places, but the places weren’t really more than a place to stay. This home was an experience in itself! Lots of nature. The host even provided toys for the pups! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting an artsy, historical, natural, and relaxing stay!

Adorable!

My goodness we loved our stay here! We arrived after dark in the evening and the winding roads were very dark and narrow- maybe time your drive so you arrive in daylight, it was a much easier drive leaving after checkout in the morning. The house was all lit up for Christmas and very welcoming. Plenty of heating so we were toasty warm despite the cold temperature outside. Lots of bed options- a double and single bed in all 3 top story rooms and a double in the downstairs. We travelled with my parents, 3 young children and dog. Everyone was well catered for and the kids and dog loved the garden to roam and explore. We had a fire pit one evening which was so nice. The kids play room was great- so many games and books. If you are travelling with toddlers/ babies just be aware there was lots of cleaning products around so you might want to take a child safety lock for the low cupboards. Also a bathtub for little kids was handy. There was provisions in the kitchen- salt, pepper, tea, coffee etc which was handy and all the cooking equipment you’d need. We cooked a full thanksgiving roast in the old school oven- it was delicious! Sitting on the porch in the rockers wrapped up in a quilt with a hot coffee was actual perfection and will be a treasured memory of mine. Loved it!

Excellent area with an even better host!

This is one of the most tranquil places I've visited. It is convenient to interstate 40 if you are headed to Tennessee or Asheville, but a beautiful country setting. Less than 7 miles to Max Patch. Wildlife abounds.

Incredible

This place is great, the host took care of all the details and more. We we’re renewing our vows and there were several personalized items that made it all extra special. The home is charming, well kept, comfortable and clean. We had family come in from 2 different states and everyone had plenty to do. A total of three dogs were included in the festivities and the home was pet friendly and safe for the 3 young children. The host dropped off some more toys to occupy them, but there were plenty of toys and books appropriate from young to old. We will definitely keep this place in our ‘visit again’ list. Perhaps by then the reception will be better. Thanx again for everything , Keturah! You made us feel right at home. And you definitely went the extra mile.

It's a 10!

The pictures do not do this home justice. Such A quiet peaceful area. Host went above and beyond. Even left an extrastores. Welcome note and surprise. The rockers on the front porch have a wonderful view. Comfy beds and everything you need to cook with in the kitchen PAMPERED CHEF even. Quality cookware hanging from a beautiful mural on pegboard wall. Host was readily available by text to answer any questions and give recommendations for places to eat. Keyless entry was set just for us with a code we could remember. Description did not say a/c but there was a unit in the upstairs area which cooled those bedrooms well with all the doors open. Sitting on the porch you can hear the sound of a gentle stream rustling by. There were checkers in a drawer on the porch table with a cracker barrel style matt to play on. There was a library fully stocked with westerns which I enjoyed and although I did not have a kid in tow, there was a ton of kid books in there as well as board games. Chocolate Lindor truffles graced the table in the living room. The downstairs bedroom had gas logs. The fire pit was nice and inside the kitchen was the makings of smores. In the kitchen was a surround sound system with cassettes!!... flash back to the 80s!! And inside the cabinet straight across from that was lots of cassettes to choose from. On the back porch was a grill ready to use. The stars were spectacular because there was no light pollution. It was fun to pick out all the constellations. This place would be perfect for a men's or ladies church retreat or gathering. The rules say no events but I imagine that is wild drunken parties as this is definitely a family friendly neighborhood. I felt like I just stepped back in time to a simpler day. The water was cold as ice and oh so tasty right from the tap. There were extra toothbrushes for outdoor like me who forget things and sample size toothpaste. Upstairs was a tub that would be good for bubble baths and it had a tray to sit a book on and a wine glass holder for ultra relaxation. I will most definitely be back again. Did I mention there were deer grazing in the field beside the house and wild turkeys. I wanna live here not just rent!!!!!!
