Very nice staff, clean room. Easy access to shopping and public transportation.

Room is good size. Bed is nice and firm. Ground is beautiful. We enjoy the beautiful grounds that the hotel offers.

The room was nice, but in a very unsafe part of town. Actually all of Oakland is unsafe . All hotels in downtown were sold out because of ICE protests. So I paid double the normal rate and stayed here. The hotel is fine , and breakfast is good.

The area is 100% trash - sketchy high drunk people up and down the street - Not one good restaurant around

While the staff at this hotel was truly excellent — friendly, attentive, and welcoming — the overall experience unfortunately did not match the price point. I understand the property is older, but rather than feeling thoughtfully maintained or updated, it came across as run-down and simply painted over. The difference between the online photos and what you experience in person is quite noticeable, which was disappointing. During my stay, the restaurant was not in service, and the small coffee area was also closed, which limited the overall hotel experience. Additionally, the walls are extremely thin, making it easy to hear noise from surrounding rooms. While I appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the staff, the condition of the property and lack of available amenities made it difficult to justify the cost of the stay. With more investment and transparency, this hotel could offer a much better experience, but as it stands, it did not feel worth the price paid.
