"I always stay here when I'm in Wilkes-Barre or even Scranton. It's far enough off the highway that we don't get the worst of the car noise from the 80-IQ crowd thinking they're impressing people with their 140 dB no-muffler two-door low-riders, but it's a ten-minute drive to the F.M. Kirby Center downtown. Miller's Ale House across the highway (walkable) has a good menu and usually some good conversation. Mohegan Sun Arena is less than a mile away, Mohegan Sun Casino is a ten-minute drive, and there are plenty of fast-food places and mid-level places (e.g, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin, Mission BBQ) in a ten-minute drive as well.
CAUTION: There seems to be an increasing amount of recreational marijuana odor in the hallways these days. But I'm starting to smell it in Walmarts and shopping center parking lots, so I can't single out Motel 6 here for that."
