Opening the balcony door in the morning, a fresh breeze greeted me, and the sound of roosters crowing in the distant mountains marked a beautiful start to the day. The room and bed were comfortable. "This is an attractive hotel a reasonable distance from central Porto. We liked it for the pool area which was quite beautiful and relaxing with a view over the river and one of the bridges. The Luis bridge/old town is a good 45 minute walk away but a fairly easy and cheap Uber (4-7 euro usually). There is not a huge amount immediately nearby but there is a nice riverside walk leading to a few cafe/bars and a good pizzeria. The staff were very good and helpful. Room size was decent in a superior double with room for an extra rollout bed for our child and still space to move about and sit on the sofa. Our 4th floor room had a lovely river view. Breakfast could be very overcrowded at times which was the only real negative."

"Beautiful property in the beautiful Douro Valley with a nice pool. There is no winery on site, but it is in the middle of beautiful vineyards. You can go down the road to Pinhao or to St. Eufemia Winery for a tour. Breakfast was great and the staff was very accomodating. Great price for a beautiful stay. The property would benefit from some more outdoor leisure areas to sit peacefully and enjoy the view other than the balcony of your room or the pool/deck. Lenore at the desk was very nice and very helpful."
