"Castle Daniel was an amazing experience! The property is very well-maintained, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The meals were very good. The staff were all excellent, and recommended several great activities nearby (including visiting the Suto family of artisans, and visiting Kalnoky Castle.) The best part, though, was the spa. The pool was long and pristine, and the jacuzzi and steam room were divine. We can't recommended Castle Daniel enough!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ciceu?
The best area to stay in Ciceu is generally around the centre of the village, particularly close to the main road, DJ138.

This central area offers the most convenient access to the village's limited amenities and provides a good base for exploring the surrounding Harghita region. While Ciceu is a small, rural village, staying near the main road means easier navigation and closer proximity to any local shops or guesthouses.

For travellers looking for a tranquil escape and direct access to nature, staying in guesthouses on the outskirts of the village, closer to the fields and forests, can be ideal. These locations offer a peaceful setting and often provide views of the rolling hills, great for those wanting to relax and enjoy the countryside.
When is the best time to go to Ciceu?
The best time to visit Ciceu is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and pleasant, great for outdoor activities.

During this period, you'll find average temperatures ranging from 20Ā°C to 25Ā°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Harghita region. The days are long, offering plenty of daylight for hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying the tranquil surroundings. It's also when many local events and festivals take place, providing a glimpse into the local culture.

For those who enjoy winter sports, December to February offers excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding in the nearby resorts. The landscape transforms into a picturesque snowy wonderland, and you can often find cosy accommodations with fireplaces.
