This is a lovely condo conveniently located on a beautiful beach. It’s a short drive to the boardwalk and grocery shopping. The condo had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable. The stay was very comfortable for the whole family!
You can't beat the location! Nice beach that is groomed daily. Loved view from 3rd floor. Condo was clean, except the upholstery, which is in dire need of cleaning. Beds comfortable. Loved our time in St. Croix!
We enjoyed our stay. The condo is comfortable and well laid out. We did have problems with non-working appliances and intermittent Internet. Nice beach and swimming.
Overall, we were very pleased with the property. The view from our 3rd floor balcony was spectacular and it's a very good location, only a short drive to downtown. We loved all the space, it will be hard to go back to a single hotel room for our next vacation. The common area with the pool and community area with the grill were immaculate. The condo was clean but there were some things that could have been cleaner and there were some minor things needing repair. The owner was very easy to contact and was very concerned about things being right for us. The AC was not working, but he got it repaired the same day we told him about it.

Cockroach infested filthy
The property had 100's of cockroaches and the pillows were dark yellow with blood stains. The wifi was out, took over 24 hours to replace a toilet, the ac went out and the host was rude and took 0 responsibility for the issues. The people next door had barking dogs that ended up attacking someone. I would expect at least a partial refund. The views were amazing and the staff were very friendly. We wont be back.
This property is right in the heart of Christiansted. You will have access to tennis courts, Sugar Bay, and the dynamic pool. The owner stays in contact should you have any questions or concerns. The condo complex is quiet and we enjoyed our time on the island exploring all it had to offer. Enjoy...

Good Value Condo Conveniently Located Near Christiansted
Sugar Beach Condo 306 is an excellent condo for 2 couples sharing a place. What attracted us to this unit is the fact that 306 has 2 identically sized master bedrooms. The condo is beachfront and offers a good sea view that is somewhat obscured by security bars. The view orientation is more north so you can't see either a sunrise or sunset from the balcony. As for the condo itself, upon arrival it was spotless, all the appliances were in good working order, the showers had excellent water pressure and the beds had the most comfortable mattresses. (Wish I had this mattress at home...) In addition to the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, there is an upstairs alcove that can sleep at least 4 more people, though I'm not sure if the aircon unit works. There is also a huge bathroom there as well and the aircon there in fact works. The condo complex itself is well maintained and managed. The swimming pool is large but it's in an enclosed area and does not offer sea views.
Pros:
Excellent value
Clean
Comfortable beds
Space to spread out
Nice galley style kitchen with relatively new appliances
Well maintained grounds
3 minute drive to downtown Christiansted
St. Croix offers great diving (you must dive/snorkel the Frederickstead pier)
Cons:
Power plant located nearby
Unit decor could use some updating, but this did not detract from the overall experience
As an aside, this was our first visit to St. Croix. We saw all of the island and our overall impression is that St. Croix is the friendliest Caribbean Island we have visited and the drivers were by far the kindest. We were always getting breaks. We recommend visiting St. Croix and for the $$, other than Cozumel, you can't find a better spot.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach Condos. The condo is just a few steps from the beach (of course it is on the 3rd floor), and the balcony provided a wonderful view. The pool is across from the unit, and is very well kept. This is an older unit, of which I was aware, and could use some upgrades. The condo can sleep up to 6, and has plenty of room to move around. The beds were very comfortable, and each room has a bathroom. There is a full kitchen, which is definitely a plus, as going out to eat with a family of 5 can be very expensive. There is also a washer and dryer, which is a lifesaver when at the beach.
There were several issues, that can easily be resolved. There were exposed electrical outlets in the upstairs loft and the balcony. The sliding glass doors were not functioning in the master bedroom (there was a note on the doors). One lamp in the spare bedroom was missing a light bulb, (no spare bulbs available) and one lamp in the master bedroom did not work at all. The closet doors in the master bedroom would not close. There was a towel rack in the master bathroom that was coming out of the wall, and the freezer was leaking water onto the top shelf of the refrigerator (we put a towel on the shelf to soak up the water).
The property manager contacted me before we flew in for our stay, and was easy to get in contact with during our trip. I did notify her of some of the things I listed above. She gave me great information on things to do/avoid during our visit, which was very helpful.
Overall, we had a good experience. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. I do recommend, if you have never been to St. Croix before, to rent a car. That is an absolute must, just out of convenience and cost.

Great Location, But Property has Too Many Problems
I was disappointed by this rental because of the cockroaches we found in the kitchen. The owner may not be at fault, but as a renter I just want a great stress-free experience. If bugs bother you then look elsewhere. People in other units said they didn't have any bug problems.
We probably should have changed to another condo but we were tired and had activities planned so I just sprayed many areas of the kitchen and then killed the roaches as I found them :(
The condo location and beach views are great. But it doesn't make up for the problems.
Below are the pros/cons details:
Pros:
- view is beautiful
- on the beach
- MBR bed and pillows are very comfortable
- most rooms have high ceilings
- Bathrooms have lots of room, showers for instance
- Porch has lots of room and seating
- fairly convenient location near c'sted
- linens and towels were clean and numerous
- AC works well
Cons:
- roaches and some small ants (ants weren't too bad, but we kept all food in the fridge jic)
- wifi couldn't stream hulu - ended up using mobile hotspot (also the wifi system isn't secure it uses outdated TLS version... if ur a techy you'll know what I mean)
- sulfur smell ... maybe from factory down the road? Only really bad 1 night
- pool was closed for maintenance - we were allowed to go to the condo's pool next door... but this was just another inconvenience.... not a huge one, but still.
- louver windows alongside front door don't work and can't be completely closed... means AC has to work harder and you get some noise, sound, etc.
- Metal window grates may be difficult to open for some, use 2 or 3 people to open them jic
- outdated decor with birds... pretty much everywhere
- Single TV and it had issues, hdmi cable corroded
- Sliding doors from mbr are not in good repair
- missing light bulbs in loft
- Front door paint is mostly worn off and wood is rotting
- Paint in many rooms is cracking off/dirty/yellowed.
- Cabinets are dingy looking with ugly locked latches
Overall there are many good things but the roaches and so many small items in disrepair are troubling. I wouldn't stay here again.
I debated on if I should share our experience and decided it would be the right thing to do. I would also like to share that we had friends staying in two different units on the same property that had much cleaner and more updated accommodations.
Pros: The view (if the rusty locked bars we not in the way) was amazing.
The pool was wonderful, clean, and had lots of chairs (not on the beach though).
The beach has shared longe chairs and a beautiful view (morning and early afternoon sun). The snorkeling off the beach was also amazing (huge starfish and lobster!).
Unit had some snorkel gear and towels.
Great restaurant at condos next door.
AC works great.
Large unit.
Washer and dryer is a plus (bring your own detergent).
Cons: The two plus bedroom was very outdated and filthy. The king size bed was terribly stained and had a disgusting odor (no fixing this...it needs to go). The linens were dingy and did not appear or feel clean. The curtains did not fit ANY of the windows in the unit and were filthy (stained). The kitchen surfaces were dirty and sticky, and I was often greeted by cockroaches in the morning (a common critter in the warmer climates but this was excessive). There are an abundance of fake plants lining a shelf on the master bedroom ceiling and through the unit. The fake plants have not been dusted or cleaned for a long time. The windows were dirty and full of greasy finger prints. Additionally, there are a fair amount of wooden birds sprinkled throughout the unit that have also not been cleaned in a long time. The furnishings were very "tired" and falling apart. Lamp shades falling of the rusty framing, the sofa and loveseat are actually deck furniture and cushions are no longer "cushioning" anything. The closets and storage spaces are littered with old broken items from the unit (lamps, cushions, junk). The deck has so much potential but all of the furniture is broken, rusty, and out dated. The metal bars/window grates were locked and took away from the beautiful view. The hurricane shutters were also rusted into place and we could not open the shutters to get the full view. Overall, this was a very disappointing rental unit. I hope posting this helps the owner to clean and update so that future renters do not have this same experience. There is lots of potential for this beautiful location. I did try to reach out to the owner but the phone number was an phone tree at a business and I was not able to reach him or leave a message.
Good location, needs tender loving care,. Housekeeping lacking regarding dusty fans and old fake dusty plants. Did not sit on furniture much looks like material needs cleaning. For the price had a higher expectation.
We stayed here from Dec 26-Jan2 - and it was just what we needed! Yes, Bill's place is a bit older, but it has an amazing location, comfy beds, and all the essentials you need at a value price (well maybe we need a bit more silverware :-) Truly tho, we could not have asked for more. You are right on the beach and the staff at the property took care of the sea grass daily, there are plenty of chairs and shade of palm trees and in Bill has a closet full of snorkel gear and beach towels. We are a family of 6 and that made it so that all of us could snorkel right off the beach each day (we had some of our own equip but there is enough for at least 4) - there are huge sea stars, lobster, and we even saw a spotted Eagle Ray! We didn't end up going to any other beaches (except the Fredrickstead Pier and Buck Island) because why would you when you can just be home :-) The pool is also nice and we enjoyed the grill. You are just minutes from everything on the island- a few things in walking distance but we recommend a car. Bill was a great communicator and kind when we asked to have a later checkout due to a late flight and understanding when we accidentally damaged a screen. If you are looking for a great home base and don't care about staying in a less "updated" property you can't go wrong with this spot!
Great location, beautiful view. We sat on the lanai most of the time. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and it ad everything we needed. Needs some updating but other than that, it was a nice stay.
Perfect beach, great snorkeling including lobsters not far from shore. The beach and pool area were will maintained. The owner promptly took care of a maintenance issue but it would have been nice to be able to open the metal gates to see the ocean as was shown on the site pictures.
