Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Chodo?
The best area to stay in Chodo is the vicinity around Chodo Port, located on the northern side of the island.

This area is the main entry point to Chodo and is where you'll find the highest concentration of amenities. It's a compact area with a few local eateries, small shops, and guesthouses clustered near the ferry terminal. The port itself is a working harbour, providing a real sense of local life.

For travellers looking for convenience and easy access to transport, staying near Chodo Port is ideal. It means you're just steps away from your ferry connections and the island's main services.
When is the best time to go to Chodo?
The best time to visit Chodo is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the island's natural beauty and engaging in outdoor activities. Spring brings blooming wildflowers, particularly camellias, which cover many of the island's hillsides, creating picturesque landscapes. The autumn offers clear skies and comfortable temperatures, great for hiking and enjoying the coastal views without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter.

For those who enjoy hiking and photography, these seasons provide the best conditions.
