"The cabin was cute and just as described. The hosts were friendly as well. When we showed up after 4pm, which is the listed check-in time, they were not ready for us. We had to wait for them to change the sheets on the bed and empty the trash inb the cabin. I would also like to warn everyone to be prepared to battle for your life against swarms of mosquitoes!! This is obviously not the hosts fault, but still a reality nonetheless."

"Ma Johnson's is the classic vintage small town hotel. The decor reflected the town's history and each room was decorated accordingly. They were upfront about things like a shared bathroom and no outlets in the rooms. It was a little cold upstairs since that floor does not have heaters in the rooms but they gave us extra blankets. For us, these things were issues and it was fun to socialize w/the other guests while charging up our electronics. The WiFi worked great as did the transportation. Everyone was helpful and it was easy to get around town. The breakfast was outstanding!"

"This place is a gem in the Alaskan wilderness! Four of us stayed in the Bear cabin (one king bed, one bed in the loft, and a twin bed as well). The bed was heavenly! The breakfast was amazing and filled us up until dinner! The hosts, James and Christina, were so very kind and shared their experiences during the delicious breakfast! The property was beautiful, too... you could sit by the river or fire. I cannot believe how comfortable James and Christina made our stay, especially given the remoteness of the place! They provided bear spray, and even snacks and drinks for later in the day. Staying here will be a lovely, lifelong memory! My only advice would be to leave earlier than you think you need to from Fairbanks or Anchorage. "
