"First of all, if you expect a luxurious hotel, this property is not for you. On the other hand, if you like camping and great atmosphere, this is totally yours.
The cabin is simple and small, but clean and cozy. The view of the stars and sunsets is amazing. There is not really electricity, but with my powerbank, I was fine. The restroom is very simple and outside, but serves its purpose.
I really enjoyed my stay. The landlord is a very nice guy and really helpful. I can recommend this cabin if you like simple things and great views."
SureStay by Best Western Chambers Petrified Forest
6/10 Okay
"The room itself was clean and nicely appointed was and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was from 6:30 to 9:30 but when we went down around 8:15 it appeared as though everyone ate early as the selection was limited & no staff came to check. It was okay - we don't expect a lot when breakfast is included.
What is difficult to understand is that there is no warning of how noisy the location is. At check in they even offer earplugs. The noise is due to I-40 being a major truck route and there's no sound barrier whatsoever.
This is clearly an old two storey hotel that was converted to a BW Sure Stay. The rooms are quite nice but the exterior is horrible. It appears as though new siding was installed but all the concrete surfaces have been painted a horrible khaki green. This same colour carries through to the room with one wall painted this colour. The passage ways (exterior) and staircases were extremely dirty. I don’t know if BW plans to do further renovation on the exterior and so no one worried about even sweeping them. "
"The property is conveniently located near the I-40, restaurants and gas stations. It is no frills but well-maintained. Room was clean, water hot, and everything worked. Rooms are not as well insulated as some and you can hear your immediate neighbors talking through the inter-connecting door (happily my neighbors were quiet after 9:00 pm). Staff are friendly and helpful with ideas for local dining. “Free” breakfast is a nice.
I’d stay at this location again."
"Patel, the manager, was the only highlight. Super friendly and sweet. The hotel is dirty , the parking lot is filled with glass. We are going cross country and this hotel made us decide we won’t stay at any 8.0’s any more as this was rated that way. I wouldn’t even shower here. "
