The cabin was incredible. Everything was top notch i would recommend everyone wanting a private relaxing time to stay here. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful place. Exactly what we needed! As for the people and the property- above and beyond! The place was extremely clean. The owners have a really nice restaurant just up the street. Amazing food and coffee. Thank you guys and see you again soon!!
My husband & I stayed at the Long X Cabin for our Anniversary Sept. 22nd 2023. The cabin itself was cozy & relaxing. When we walk into to the cabin, a bottle of wine was waiting for us for our anniversary.
Thank you Alison.
The outside was so peaceful. Drinking our coffee on the porch and listening to the birds. We took a walk down to the creek, that in itself was beautiful. That evening we made a fire outside in the firepit, we even had s'mores...
I told my husband, this is just what we needed, could not ask for a better weekend.
It was like having a slice of heaven right here in Cherryville Mo....
Thank you..
P.S. We will be back, but this time with our family and Grandkids..
We had a lovely time in this little retreat! Our host was delightful as always. This cabin prefect for us, it had all the things to make our trip feel like home. We have stayed at Fair-winds in the past and it is a place we look forward to building more memories!

Very enjoyable stay in a lovely area near a variety of MO state parks
Very much enjoyed our stay in Alison's cabin. Cabin was very clean and well appointed. Alison was quickly responsive to any of our questions that arose. Would highly recommend a stay for folks traveling in this area who want to "get away from it all".
Beautiful setting and very comfortable cabin. Grocery store just down the hill in Cherryville for everything you need and lots of recreation areas and state parks within an easy drive. I enjoyed a trail run through Onondaga Cave State Park and lots of time out on the cabin deck relaxing.
Thank you for our stay! Very easy access and smooth process to book, thank you for the communication!

This is a beautiful property.
The luxury cabin in the woods is perfect for a getaway. It's so secluded and peaceful. My fiance and I loved it. I wish we had the time to spend another night there and explore the creek area. It's not too far from Steelville, a quiet little town with everything one would need for a few days.
The cabin was perfect and decorated so neatly! It was very private and in a beautiful location near a pretty creek. We enjoyed getting out and touring the scenic roads. A surprise stop at Mary ’s Valley Meat processing for an amazing ribeye we grilled at the cabin was also a highlight. And all of the personalized rocks at the cabin we’re such an inspiration. We were excited to celebrate our 25th anniversary where so many others had! We highly recommend this property!!

Very well appointed, cute cabin in the woods—perfect for a couple.
My wife and I spent four days here in late March, 2018. It is a really nice, quiet, well furnished cabin—perfect for a couple wanting to get away. The king size bed is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with pots and pans, nice refrigerator, and full size electric range/oven and refrigerator. All extremely clean. The bathroom is very well done—a huge jetted tub, new sink, lots of hot water (although—as is typical, not enough to fill the tub). There is a nice working fireplace—but gas, not wood burning.
It is located right on the edge of the Mark Twain National Forrest—lots of nearby hiking...which we enjoyed even though it rained most of our trip.
Note: there is no shower, and the kitchen DOES NOT include any spices, cooking oil, etc—just salt and pepper, so bring your own, or stop in Steelville in the way in and stick up on the basics.
Finally, as advertised, there is no WiFi, and it is isolated enough that we also had zero cell coverage. Nor was there any of either anywhere in Cherryville—so you are going to drive AT LEAST 1/2 hour to get connected. This was not an issue for us, but be sure you know what you are getting into.

Perfect escape
This is the second time in two months that we have stayed at Fair Winds property. The first stay was in the Hunters Run cabin and this stay was in Long X Trail. Identical experience for both stays, we went with the King size bed the second time and are going to book it again in October. It is almost scary disconnecting from social media, phones and computers now a days, but it was the best thing we have done in a very long time. We could still connect if we needed to, but it was our choice. Our stay both times were perfect. The cabins were clean well kept and supplied with everything we needed. Allison and Jason were always helpful and went out of their way for us more than once. Just genuinely great folks. My wife is a doctor and I work for the intelligence agency, the stress in our everyday life can be overwhelming. This place made us feel like we had our own little slice of the world where no one could interrupt or stress us out. We literately sat in our chairs in the creek for hours at a time, just listening to the water, some great music and nature. It was AWESOME. We liked it so much that we are looking at similar property in the area. Thanks again Allison and Jason for sharing this wonderful place and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.
The cabin was secluded enough for a romantic getaway. My husband and I were glad to have driven his truck because we got lost on the way and drove toward a creek.. had we taken our car we would have gotten stuck! We asked a kind family which way to go and they helped. If you drive down toward the lodge, know it looks like a house lol!
The bath fits 2 adults easily. They had bubble bath there ready to use, plenty of towels, dishes, simple seasonings to cook with, and some games to play. The one thing we were missing was a coffee pot! They had a single serve Keurig but no coffee pot :(
Be sure to grab a rock and sign it! Also write about your stay in the journal; some cute entries are in there!
We will definitely be going back!
Love it it was a great place would love to see it when the leaves are changing
Loved it but no internet service and need a bigger sign by the highway of the cabin name plus the name of the place didn't say it the internet just the name of the cabin
This property is as advertised. Great spot away from the world. Cabin was perfect for what we needed. We spent most of the days on the front porch listening to the rain and enjoying nature. We will be back for sure!
Very quiet, calm, and enjoyable. Our cabin was secluded from other cabins. Probably the cleanest place I've ever stayed! There is no cell reception in the cabin, but it's available if you drive up to the main area.
