"The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly. The first room we checked into was awful honestly. It smelled like mildew and was dirty, dark, and dingy. The toilet stopped up and was then leaking water all over the floor from the base of the toilet. When we went up front to let staff know he immediately moved us to a new room/cottage which was much nicer in terms of smell and problem areas than the previous "suite" but was still not clean. I believe that some of the rooms might feel cleaner due to them being newer or slightly renovated. And I use the term renovated loosely because its much closer to the "landlord special" if you know what I mean. Overall there is a lot of mold, a lot of roaches, and a lot of hair in the shower from previous guests. I can see why there would be high reviews because I'm sure some of the rooms are quite nice and others are just...not. My husband stayed in one of the duplex houses last year and said it was very nice (but those are nearly new construction compared to the ones we stayed in this year). Just know what you're signing up for. Its a mixed bag. But you get what you pay for for under $100/night."

"The Sweetwater cabin was spotless, well-decorated, and very comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen. The outdoor space truly stood out—the back porch, creek sounds, firepit, and landscaping exceeded expectations. Nearby attractions like the Cherohala Skyway, Lake Santeetlah, Fontana Lake, and Tapioco made the stay even better. We’d happily return and highly recommend it."

"We couldn't have picked a better property to stay at for this trip. It met all the marks for us. It was cozy and welcoming, clean and well maintained, and included amenities that were a cut above the rest. Great for a family getaway!"

"Absolutely beautiful home! Lots of room for everyone. The view was incredible. I was worried the beds may be uncomfortable (theres no sleep like home!) But they were so dreamy, no issues at all. There was so much to do at the house for all of us! We brought some board games but the house was stocked with plenty. Our first day we caught some fish but no luck after that. We took the canoe out and for a southern flat lander like myself, it was a magical view. I didn't feel the need to message the host pertaining anything. The welcome book thats left really says it all. The only flaws the property had was i couldnt find a broom (granted there were several vacuums), the Q sticks for pool had no tips left to them (again, not a big deal, its for fun!) The only grocery nearby is Ingles (super sweet staff & locals!) If you want a walmart its a beautiful 49 minute drive. All in all - Incredible stay. Will absolutely come back!"
