My daughter and I were in town for her birthday and to visit UTC. We enjoyed the sights - Aquarium, Rock City, UTC, Naughty Cat Cafe. The room was quaint, clean, and cool. The front desk was super friendly and efficient. We ended napping in the afternoon, but did not actually stay the night due to my daughter feeling ill and wanting to go home. Recommend if you're on a budget.
Cancelled my reservation and refused to honor it or refund money until i called the owner. Owner got reservation resolved, but had to get 2 different keys programmed only to learn the reader on the door was broken. Was then put in another room, the 2nd door lock was broken as if someone had already broken into that room, the bedding was stained, the shower head did not work-there was no water deverter. Only positive note: the staff was friendly. Will not be staying here again.
It's a nice place to stay. It's not a five star hotel but nice and close to everything you want to see. We did not eat at the hotel only had cereal so we went to the Hardee's that is right beside it.
Nice hotel. Beds were super soft, too soft for my husband. I would not rent through VRBO again. The rate per night was twice as much than if I had went to their website.
When I learned that this property was a vintage Howard Johnson’s I was leery to say the least. When I voiced my concerns, the manager called in response to address my worries and offered to refund my money. That meant a lot! We found the motel to be very clean and updated the best it could be. Since there were two fast food restaurants in walking distance, we didn’t eat the breakfast. Although not listed, there is a continental breakfast offered. The mattresses were comfortable, and we enjoyed the use of the pool. Note: there are only four lounge chairs- more are needed. The location is very convenient! Overall, we had a very nice stay and would recommend to anyone on a budget. 😊

Overall, not bad. Things that could be improved --A bucket of cigarettes butts was outside on the patio - this was a terrible first impression as we were walking to the room. Inside the room, when we arrived, the room was hot and humid. It took a few hours for the a/c to cool the space to a comfortable temp. The light switches throughout the room were in terrible looking condition (i.e. old, yellowed/browned), which contrasted with the seemingly newer/whiter switch plate covers. It was off-putting to say the least. There was a vent cover in the bathroom that was missing, and the bathroom vent itself did not work. This was unfortunate as it would've helped to greatly reduce the humidity in bathroom and room too. We could've used additional trash can or one that was larger for items bigger than a soda can. As a family of four, we definitely needed more electrical outlets - there simply wasn't enough of them to charge all the things we needed to charge each day. Was disappointed on the quality of the tv and/or the channels being broadcast, such that the signal was standard definition (SD) for all channels (i.e. no HD channels). This seemed extremely outdated with today's technology as even basic cable channels are broadcast in HD. The fridge in the room either didn't work or didn't work well enough to chance it on storing anything we needed to keep cold.
