"I arrived and the owner wasn’t expecting me even though I had booked earlier that day through Expedia. The room was fine, hard mattress but I like that. A bit outdated and hard worn sheets but I slept really well. I asked about dinner and the owner said yes 7:30. I was sat in reception alone (in the dark as the light kept going off) and served a bowl of pasta with chopped up smoked salmon and cheese, a dry crepe and a terrible packaged flan. "Excellent Hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself has a quirky layout , as it’s in a very large old mansion house, all of which adds to its charm! The hotel is well kept and is a very clean , well run and well maintained and is within easy walking distance of the town centre and the river. (5-10 mins) . There are a lot of bars and restaurants with variable opening times! There’s parking available in front of the hotel, which is private and convenient. There’s also an excellent restaurant. The room we had was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the room size was very good, we were also fortunate enough to have a small terrace outside of our balcony doors. The shower was big and the amenities were great. There’s also a fridge in the room as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast offered was relatively limited but was fresh and tasty. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again."
