We had an excellent stay at Rivers Edge. The property was just as described. Our group took advantage of the amenities at the home, including playing pool, basketball, and fishing from the dock. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, as were the bathrooms. Monica (management) was very helpful and attentive to all of our needs and requests. We will definitely consider this property if we are back in the Charlotte area.
We enjoyed our stay. The 3 teenage boys really liked all the things to do in the game room. The property manager was very responsive and helpful when I had difficulty initially getting into the home. Convenient location for our weekend trip to Carowinds.
My friends and I decided to do a girls trip to Charlotte for my birthday weekend. The lake house was perfect for us. The neighborhood was quiet, the house was spacious and clean, and all of the must haves in the home were there. The property manager was very responsive to any questions I had. We will definitely be staying here again!
We had a great time saw an osprey, blue heron and bald eagle off the balcony. We visited the Raptor Center and the Botanical Gardens. Both great experience. We are over or 70's and I have some suggestions to help accommodate your older visitors especially the stairs. Please contact me for more info.

Great stay on the river!
Great place for a big group to hang out and enjoy the view. We ended up not going into Charlotte because there were so many activities to do at the house. Great backyard area and pool with lots of space.
The house was so beautiful. The pictures listed matched the description perfectly. The location and neighborhood was amazing. My family enjoyed it. We'll definitely book again for the summer. The lake view was so pretty. The host responded back immediately anytime we reached out.
This property gave us the space we needed and the sleeping accommodations we were looking for. The amenities were all we could ask for and the modern touches were very nice. The backyard view was gorgeous every morning. Proximity to shopping was convenient. However, having to register with the property manager after reserving the unit was a little aggravating. Overall, the trip and house was wonderful.
Easy check in/out and host was prompt to respond for the few questions we had. Lots to do for the kids and enjoyed the outside spaces. Steps downstairs are very tricky. Good thing there are two bedrooms on main floor for the older folks. Only issue is the pool started to turn green on day 3. But it's an above ground without a lot of circulation and it was scorching outside. Overall, definitely recommend.
Property was nice. Hard to keep the downstairs warm. There were a lot of things that needed to be tightened and there weren't tools available (bunk bed ladder, stools). Only one usable poolstick. Our heating unit went out on our last night, but communication was very good, and we were able to get a solution quickly. Overall, I think it was a little pricey for what it was, especially the cleaning fee. We did most everything ourselves, so 475 was a little steep.

Bday Weekend
Overall the house and location were great! It had plenty of room for my friends and family to sleep and hang out with each other. The game room was awesome! Unfortunately there was only 1 pool stick which we made work and the basketball game wouldn’t turn on. Maybe out of batteries?
I also wish we would have known the pool cover was on because we did bring bathing suits.
We never did find the starter pack of paper towels. And we didn’t find the soap and sponge for the kicthen until the night before we left. I would suggest leaving that by the sink because it was on a tiny table behind the couch. Didn’t make much sense to us.
However, besides the minor inconveniences, we all had a great time and loved this house! It was spacious and had a great view and location. The company responded fairly quick when I had any questions or concerns (within an hour) the house was overall clean when we arrived (besides 2 dead bugs down stairs.)
We would definitely stay here again.

I’m pretty easy to please as a guest. We were contacted prior to the stay about moving to a different rental because the previous guests wanted to extend. This didn’t feel great- but to be fair Mary was very kind about it and understanding. Upon arrival the code we were given to the front door was wrong so we had to stand outside until the property management company responded. They responded relatively quickly but still not the greatest start. The home has a beautiful view of the water and that part absolutely lived up to expectation. We didn’t spend much time in the house as we were there for a conference. Other than sleeping we spent about 3 waking hours in the house. The WiFi was broken, the dishwasher didn’t work, the TV was hard to operate with no real instructions about the volume, and there were cockroaches on the floor. While it was clear that we had clean sheets and clean countertops, it appeared that a deep cleaning hadn’t been done in a long time. Guests who walked across their room barefoot had dirt all over their feet. There were dust bunnies everywhere. It just wasn’t clean. The biggest issue was actually when we got home and I was contacted by the property owner accusing us of writing on the walls. We are a group of professionals who spent very little time in the unit. I was sent photos where someone had drawn on a wall. I confirmed with our guests that nobody was writing on walls. Overall it just wasn’t a polished experience

Better Suited for a younger group
The place was clean and sufficient for our group.
The main issue was the different stair heights going to the basement. Easy to fall, as one of the ladies did. We were concerned for one of the other ladies, she is older than most of the group. The shower in the Jack and Jill bath on the main floor was very tiny. We were a group of 10 senior women. They had ten plates, 10 mugs, 10 forks, 10 knifes. Our suggestion would be to add another set of each of above. A toaster would have been helpful. The toaster oven wasn’t that good for making toast. Full length mirror somewhere in the house would have helped as well. The information board didn’t work. We tried to reboot but no luck. They were very good and quick at responding to our request of drain in kitchen not draining and had it fixed by the time we returned from our day out. This was a nice place, but better for younger people.
Very nice and clean home with up to date appliances, cookware, dishes, etc., nice furniture, bedding and what a view! Close to many different venues and other locations close by. So much preferred over a hotel!

Family wedding digs
This home was clean and well appointed. Plenty of room for all of us with lots to do. Outside was another story. The lawn needed to be cut. Especially around d the fire pit where we got bit up by bugs. The pool was dirty. The pool cleaner came the second d day we were there. Not sure what he did, but it remained very cloudy until the day we left. Needless to say, no one swam. Some safety things to note. The deck stairs are narrow and steep with one broken (Adirondack chairs outside were also broken). The railing from the first backyard level to the firepit area is dangerous. It is attached to rotting boards, and can easily fall when leaned on. Luckily we caught it early and warned everyone. Also the stairs from the main floor to the downstairs are difficult to navigate. Use caution with kids and elderly. We had 12 people stay here for a family wedding. It was a great location for us with plenty of room to relax and get ready. One more thing. The master bed is very very soft, not great for our backs.
Beautiful views of the river and pet friendly!
The house is pretty, roomy and has nice views of the Catawba River. There was an alarm in the downstairs that continued to go off through the night. We called for service and someone did show up to fix it the next day. The stairs going down, as mentioned in other reviews, are wonky and could be dangerous for some people. For the price, it was lacking. Kitchen wasn’t stocked with some basics. For example, no Tablespoon, no hand towels, only 5 forks. We were supplied with one sponge, a small bottle of dishwashing soap, two dishwasher tabs, one roll of paper towels. We were told after booking that we’d be given a starter kit and to bring a supply of essentials for when the basics ran out but for the cost of the house, I would think we could be “treated” to these things. Finally, we found it odd that there was no door on the master bathroom. It opened right up to the hall to the bedroom providing very little/no privacy. I think someone has put a good amount of work into making this a pretty, comfortable space but the price is too high and little thought has been put into the details that make a house a vacation home.

Disliked: Cleanliness
No Attention to Detail
Property had ants in the kitchen, lack of trash bags and paper towels. Induction cooktop only takes conductive pots and pans which made cooking difficult as they only had 2 that worked on the range. No filter in the fridge for filtered water or ice.

House could have been great.
There for a baseball tourney. 4 families, parents and their 16-yr old players. The first family arrived to find the bathroom they would be using was boarded up. Also an access panel from that bathroom to their bedroom with a strong (poop) odor. There was a towel under the panel, which suggested they knew this was a problem. Very annoying because this family would have to go into the bedroom of another baseball family to use their bathroom and shower -awkward for people that don’t know each other like that. I called and left messages with the Itrip contact but they would only respond via email/text. That seemed to be a consistent theme throughout our stay. Several problems with a lack of personal communication - just some canned responses to “rest assured”. Had the owner picked up the phone and spoken to us, I’m certain the next several days would have been more enjoyable for all. We went on to find that there were cockroaches infesting the outside deck, a swimming pool that was green and usable, a pool table that was described in the listing but not there, and what seemed to be overall neglect for the outside of the house. The interior was clean however beware of awkward steps that lead to downstairs. If you have young or old travelers, not the house for you. Two of us left with bruises from falling on the steps. Amazing location and view. We rented a pontoon (Lake Wylie Rental/5 stars!) We eventually got one night refund which went to the family with the bathroom situation.

Family trip
Even though the house appears to have been recently renovated, there are some details that potential renters would benefit from knowing. The stairs leading from the main level to the lower level are uneven and could be difficult for elderly people. It seems that used to be exterior of the house. In addition, the floors on stairs and lower level were VERY dirty. No cleaning supplies available. We could not walk inside without shoes on. Hopefully, they will have completed a thorough cleaning before renting it again. There were multiple nails sticking up 1-2” in the center of the walkway on the dock. Be very careful! There is no ladder on the dock, so it’s difficult to access the lake. Impossible for elderly and small children. One of the two bathrooms on the main level, which is to be accessed by two bedrooms (a king and the bunk room), has a very, very small shower. No tub for kids that may be sleeping in the bunk room. Things that weren’t provided that you may want to bring: kitchen towels, hand soap, lake towels. The pool pump doesn’t work, so above ground pool is not usable. The cooktop is induction, so familiarize yourself with how that works. You can only utilize certain pans and they have to be appropriately sized for each eye in order to function. The best part of the house is the downstairs level with pool table, etc. Good area for kids. All in all…..I will certainly not be renting again and the rental price was way more than this house was worth.
Disappointing, Not Clean, Green Pool & Leaking Ceiling and Windows
The floors in the house were not vacuumed and there were several cobwebs behind the doors & in the windowsills. The grass was uncut, weeds all over the patio and a green pool. Contacted property management they said that someone would be out later that day to cut the grass, but that the house & pool had been cleaned the day before and inspected. So my sister and I had to vacuum & sweep the floors before the rest of our family came. We had to go around & hammer down some of the nails that were sticking up on the decking on the pier (which is need of repair). Management did not send anyone out to do anything about pool so since we are pool owners and know how to maintain a pool we cleaned and treated the pool ourselves, so that we would be able to use the pool by the next day. The downstairs icemaker was leaking water all over the floor, called management again for them to just tell us to turn the water off under the sink & someone would be out the next day. The repairmen told us he needed to go get a hose & would be back in 2 hours but never came back. The grill was dirty and 2 of the burners didn't work properly. Final straw came Sunday when a storm came through and the ceiling and windows in downstairs area began to leak and we were running around trying to clean it up. Contacted management with no response. The sad thing is that if the house was maintained properly it could be a great property. Followed up with an email to management group but never heard back.
