This was, without question, the most disappointing vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in.While we were only staying one night as a stop on a road trip I still expected something clean and safe. Arrival at 1030pm was a disaster as we walked into a home that was 89. I located the thermostat and found it was off, not broken. I hurried to turn it down and search for fans. Unable to locate any I reached out to the host who said there are none and he’s “sorry to hear that”. I found per the checkout instructions he asks guests to turn it off, it took until 4am to get it to 75We also notice the back door had been left unlocked which is extremely scary to walk into at night. There were flies throughout the house from the moment we arrived, making it difficult to enjoy meals or even relax indoors. Multiple walls had visible holes and damage that made the home feel neglected and poorly maintained.The carpet and furniture were heavily stained, leaving us questioning how well the property was actually cleaned between guests. Instead of feeling comfortable, we spent the entire stay trying to avoid sitting on certain furniture and walking barefoot.This property is clearly not being maintained to an acceptable standard. Between the flies, damaged walls, stained furnishings, and serious security concerns, the rental fell far below what was advertised. We paid for a clean, safe, comfortable place to stay and received the exact opposite.
