Plenty of room to park full-size truck and 21' bass boat, outdoor plug-in, the property was very quiet and secure. The house is clean. We had such a great time and will stay there again in the future.
This is a beautiful property. Very private. Quiet. Picturesque location. Smaller private lake with loons and fish to catch. 10 minute drive to downtown Charlevoix.I would recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our time here. The lake was perfect, the kids enjoyed kayaking and the campfire pit. My senior parents enjoyed the large deck. The view is gorgeous and the ambiance of the cottage is lovely. The water quality caught us off guard, you will definitely want to buy water or use the britas they provide or else you’ll get a mouthful of sand. Also the barn door upstairs was a little tough to use. Otherwise we had a great stay!
We had a great time this weekend in Charlevoix. The house was gorgeous, property was very pretty and of course the water being right there is such a perk and it was clear & beautiful.
Beds were comfortable and house was clean. We were five minutes from Castle Farms where my niece was married so that was also a major perk.
Booking, checking in and out and the stay itself was great. Thank you.
Beautiful property. The log cabin was well stocked and very comfortable. The lake was great and able to use kayaks and row boats. Kitchen very well stock. So close to downtown but still quiet and country feel.
Loved the location and views. It was peaceful and quiet. We stayed there for the weekend for a wedding we were going to. It worked out perfect. Definitely would come back and recommend to friends. Be sure to bring bottled water, water from faucet very hard/irony.
The house was very clean. Linens were dated and more blankets for the beds would have been nice. The house had everything you would need to stay. The lake and large deck were fantastic.
Location and home were excellent. Minutes from civilization, lots of fish in Nowland and plenty to keep your crew happy onsite. I'd call this one a gem.
The cabin was great. It was clean, kitchen had everything we needed, having wifi was nice. Everything was as described. Host quick to respond, check in easy. We used the fire pit, no wood, but we found some for sale in town. Loved that kayaks and row boats were there. Downtown Charlevoix and lake michigan beaches only about 10-15 minutes away. We had a great stay!!
The setting is perfect, peaceful countryside and lake. Yet only 10 minutes to Charlovoix. Since we stayed after the summer season we had the whole lake to ourselves for Kayaking and fishing. The host Kim was supper responsive and helpful. If you go bring water since the well water has some odor, do not expect a luxury bathroom or master suite, it's a nice cottage.
This place checks off all of the boxes. Whether you're an outdoors fan or a city fan, this location has both. The lake and home are ideal for a quiet getaway, fishing, lakeside with a fire, kayaking and wildlife watching. The city of Charlevoix is a 15 minute drive away if dining, shopping and Lake Michigan strolls are your thing. If I was in the market, I would look to buy a property like this one. The host made sure that the property had everything we needed and the entire experience was effortless and stress-free. Great getaway! Thank you!
The positive features to this rental was its location, log structure, owners quick reply, 11 o’clock check out and great deck, two row boats and 2 kayaks. On the negative side some of the outdoor and indoor furniture should be disposed it is so “ratty”, the water is not drinkable and smells, the kitchen needs a good cleaning as well as the windows and screens. The beach is eroding and needs some attention ,a dock would be a plus. I wanted to love this place but the positives don’t make up for the negative aspects at any price
Our adult family stayed several days while attending my son's wedding at Castle Farms. It was perfect! Conveniently located near the venue, Lake Michigan and Charlevoix stores, yet offered a serene, relaxing retreat from the bustle of wedding preparations and events. House was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well stocked with all we needed, plus amazing lake views, grazing deer, and lovely hilly vistas of neighboring farm properties as we traveled to and from or went for walks! The weather was wicked for late October, but we felt safe and cozy with the electric fireplace, sturdy log construction and inviting charm of the home. Will definitely come back in the summer to enjoy swimming, kayaking, horseshoes and outdoor campfires, etc. The owner was very prompt and responsive to my inquiries about a full length mirror and blankets at the home (had both)! It was perfect for our needs and beyond. Thank-you!
