The Gathering Place provides its guests with a terrific location (close to downtown Charleston, numerous shops, restaurants & grocery stores in Mt. Pleasant and the local beaches on Sullivan's Island) in a warm, welcoming & comfortable environment with multiple seating areas, a large front yard and children's playroom. With its three separate seating areas (two of which have large screen smart TVs), you can easily create separate areas for the kids and the adults in your group.

Perfect location for visitors attending those Charleston Weddings, College of Charleston or Citadel graduation, or just a fun week in the # 1 city in the U.S.! Please note that parties or events are not actually permitted at the home as we are in a nice quiet residential neighborhood and we’d like to stay here! :)

Guests enter the home by using the electronic keypad lock on the front door. Once you enter the home, you will find an entryway that provides you to access a living room on the left or the dining room on the right. The living room on the left has a large screen TV, hardwood floors, comfortable seating area and beautiful moulding. There is a guest bedroom located off the corner of the living room. Through the hallway you'll find the remaining three bedrooms in the home and two of the home's three bathrooms. The dining room to the right of the entryway connects to the kitchen, family room and the third full bathroom in the home. The family room also features a large screen TV and multiple seating areas which connect to the kids' playroom with its box full of toys, games and books. There is a laundry room with full-sized washing machine and dryer near the playroom. Off-street parking on the driveway for up to 4 cars is included in the rental rate.

The Gathering Place is located in quiet, historic Scanlonville, a neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant very close to the Ravenel Bridge. Close to the site of the former Riverside Beach pavilion where some of America's finest jazz, blues, and R&B acts played in the 30, 40's, 50's and 60's. Musical legends such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong., B.B. King, and Ivory Joe Hunter all performed there. Now, almost nothing remains as the site became a Millionaire's retreat but there is a commemorative historic marker across from the Remley's Point Boat Landing.

From this home, you are approximately 5 min from downtown Charleston and less than 5 min from the nearest Whole Foods Market, Harris Teeter grocery store, Cinnebarre movie theater and many terrific restaurants. The Gathering Place is also approximately 15 mins from Sullivan's Island beaches.

Please note that there is a separate upstairs apartment which the homeowners sometimes use for their relatives. The homeowners also live nearby and often invite guests to a BBQ or fish fry! Don't be surprised if you get an invite! Please be mindful of the residential character of the home during your stay.
