The Hotel Villa San Francisco was delightfully charming with gracious and accommodating staff. The front patio, entry, and courtyard are well maintained and welcoming. I actually liked the Hotel -- however the one complaint I had, was the Safari room, which we stayed. It was a fairly basic layout that served our needs. However, 1. The bathroom was in need of major repairs. The bath tub was "soft", suggesting rot directly under the tub. It was also stained and poorly kept. The shower curtain was about 3 years past usable, and absolutely should be replaced (burned). 2. The Queen Bed (main room) needs a new mattress. It is partially collapsed/tilting towards the floor on one side. I did see into another room being made up, and it was clear the Safari room, may be the outlier. All-in-all, I enjoyed the Hotel.

Lake Chapala is a wonderful place to experience real Mexican culture. The food was delicious and the shopping was reasonably priced. The hotel had a good breakfast. The rooms were clean and the service was friendly. My husband and I had a wonderful couples massage for $80. We will definitely return.

This hotel is on the one of the main streets in Chapala and directly across from the lake. It is charming and an older building with a large veranda on the front. It is here that one has breakfast and it overlooks the front garden and the road. The room was spacious and I had a king size bed. It was comfortable and I like a firm bed. Someone had been smoking in the washroom as there was a faint odor that I could detect every time I entered. The staff was excellent and very attentive. Breakfast was as stated and omelets or eggs, pancakes etc. with coffee, juice and fruit. There is a small pool out back set in a spacious and well appointed garden area. There is also a small bar out back. I recommend this place but do not expect a Hilton or a Marriott. It is a quaint, nice hotel in a small town.

This place is quaint and charming. The staff are helpful and attentive. The pool is gorgeous. The room was still a good temperature without AC. I loved the fact it had an attached balcony to your room. Being able to get fresh air at hotel is underrated

Nice hotel bad food
Room and hotel were nice. Everything was clean, within walking distance of everything. But severely understaffed. Front desk guy was also the waiter at the restaurant. It took forever to get our food. And the food is bad. We give it a 6/10. Nice place but eat somewhere else.

This property is located at a perfect place in Chapala. The property itself is beautiful and location is key. However, the staff is not so friendly. We had various issues from, the sofa bed being broken to a shower overflowing. We were given new rooms but it was with attitude as if it were our fault. Staff really needs to be trained on customer service. I treat everyone with respect and expect the same from others.

Very clean rooms. Great wifi service. Excellent continental breakfast with made to order food included with the price. Across the street from the Chapala malecon. Walking distance to food, bars, laundry service, and transportation. Highly recommended for first time visitors. Only downside is the church bells ringing every hour.

I love everything about this hotel! The staff is incredibly friendly and fun. My beautiful room overlooked their lush garden. It was centrally located so I could walk down to the lake side and downtown within minutes.

I liked the decor. Stayed during Christmas season and decorations were very nice. The areas to sit and relax were inviting, both in the lobby area and outside garden. The garden with the flowers was very pretty. Could provide electrical heaters for when temperatures dips to the 40's.It was a bit chilly. Mosquitoes in the room.
