The best area to stay in Chandrexa De Queixa is the main village of Chandrexa, or the surrounding hamlets like Celeiros, for a truly peaceful Galician escape.

The main village of Chandrexa is the heart of the municipality, offering a few local amenities. You'll find a small shop for essentials, a couple of traditional eateries, and the local church, Iglesia de Santa María. It's located in a valley, surrounded by green hills, providing a tranquil base for exploring the region.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in one of the nearby hamlets such as Celeiros or Pedrafita offers an even more secluded experience. These small communities are often made up of charming stone houses, some of which have been converted into guesthouses. They provide direct access to hiking trails and stunning natural landscapes, great for unwinding and enjoying the rural beauty.

The best time to go to Chandrexa de Queixa is during the spring (late April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the region's natural beauty.

During spring, the landscape is lush and green, with wildflowers in bloom, and temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and nature walks.

Autumn brings comfortable temperatures, usually between 12°C and 18°C, and the forests display beautiful autumnal colours. It's also a good time for those interested in local gastronomy, as it often coincides with harvest festivals and mushroom foraging season.

The summer months (July and August) can be quite warm, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 25°C, which might be less comfortable for active exploration.
