"The photos do not do this property justice. Never stayed in a French village before so a bit reticent however what a lovely place. Secure, private, yet open and spacious. Inside the main property the open living area works very well and the smaller gite was an added bonus especially due to the added kitchen space and utilities on offer. The pool was fantastic such a great addition which we used almost every day despite the average weather. I would say for the money this is a gem and the passion...

"Such a great house! Will definitely return when the pool is open! As described, very spacious, lots of outside space including pizza oven and bbq. Lots of covered outdoor space for all weathers. Gates close so perfect for dogs. Restaurants/bars/supermarkets only 5 minute drive. So peaceful and quiet and typically French 😊"

"The hosts have done a great job in making this cottage really comfortable and have thought of everything-even down to the nespresso coffee machine, which I thought I was going to miss. We went for lunch at Hotel du Commerce on Sunday and I suffered food poisoning all day Monday and some of Tuesday so we came home without viewing any sights."

"A nice spacious well equipped property with a pleasantly heated pool. Essentially it's located in the countryside away from any towns or major tourist spots - so factor in any extra driving. Surprisingly it was a semi-detached property but we didnt really hear much from the human neighbours, the cows on the farm across the road made more noise!"

"C'est toujours très agréable de séjourner dans un lieu chargé d'histoire. Le chateau de Saveille est un très bel édifice. Notre hôte était sympathique et à l'écoute. Son logis était confortable. J'ai adoré le dortoir à l'étage, et plus encore le jardin clos et arboré, dans lequel nous avons pu prendre tous nos repas. Nous avons pu également, profiter d'une très belle exposition de tacots rutilants, dans l'enceinte du chateau. Bref, un excellent week-end !"

"We spent a lovely, relaxing two weeks at Chez Sophie. The house was ideally located for us as local amenities were in easy walking distance and lots of lovely local walks. There are some fantastic local places to visit within a short drive and some great places to eat as well. We had a few teething issues primarily as we were the first visitors of the season but this did not impact how much we enjoyed our time and holiday. The garden is great for dogs as secure and very spacious."

"Lovely gite, nice couple very friendly but unfortunately whilst decor etc was lovely for me the basics need tweaking a bit ie: no freeze box, no blinds in the bedrooms, no WiFi and I had to climb into the bath to set the taps for the children to have a shower/bath which I found quite difficult with an arthritic hip. Perfect romantic getaway
"Please stay at this wonderful chambre d’hote. Roxi is the perfect host and you can really tell that she has put her heart and soul into this lovely house. The bedroom we had was amazing and had everything you need including a huge jacuzzi!!! Perfect place to enjoy the town of Verteuil sur Charente. Fresh eggs included in great breakfast. We will be back!!!"
