Great place to stay. Close to town, and easy access. Directions were good, and easy to get in with code. The full size kitchen was great, and plenty of cookware and necessities. Bedrooms were nice with plenty of covers if needed.
We enjoyed the house. It worked well for the 5 adults and 2 kids. We played cards on the big table each night. It was close to the train station. Access and Wi-Fi worked fine.
We really enjoyed having this as a home base! Great house with all the amenities and extras. We rode the train and spent some time in town too. If you are coming to Chama - totally stay here. You might need a place with a kitchen as restaurants being open is hit or miss.
Beautiful old historic home. Property was well appointed with everything you need. Beds were comfortable and location was perfect. Communication with property owner Brian was easy, answering all our questions quickly. A must stay when visiting Chama, NM.
Comfortable, well supplied, aesthetic, great dining room area for food, games, gathering. Plenty of bathrooms. We xc ski, snow shoe at the pass, also walk to Sargents Refuge or hike or ski there. Then relax at the house with friends.
Our favorite "Home Away from Home" It Still Awesome!
A too short weekend stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen, baths, bedrooms are all well-appointed and furnished. We always love our stays here and can't wait for the next one. Thank you for sharing a beautiful historic home with us!
This property is clean, comfortable and has a fully equipped kitchen. We needed a place for our family group if 2 teens and 5 adults. It was perfect. The 3 bathroom werecan added plus.
Great home and very comfortable. Host was very helpful and always available. Having 4 Bdrms and 3 Baths is very nice and this home and area was vey quiet. We will return on our next stay in thus area.
The house was great and had everything we needed especially in the kitchen! Lots of blankets and pillows and we slept very comfortably. The Christmas tree was very sweet. Everything was exactly as described and very roomy. It was about an hour to Pagosa Springs and about 2 hours from Santa Fe. The town has some cute little shops and restaurants. The train looks like a lot of fun but we visited in the off season so we didn't get to try in.
We loved everything about our stay and only wished we had booked another night, especially when the train was cancelled due to snow! It would have been the PERFECT place to hang out all day in the rain/snow! Someone might want to go through the games, as many have missing pieces and cannot be played😅
The property was conveniently located so that we could walk to the train and to town. It was full of artifacts, art and history as well as everything you might need for your stay. Communication with the owner was easy and informative. The Chama train was spectacular with the fall foliage. We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much.
Nice house, plenty of room for everyone, nice to come back from a long day of hunting and have a warm shower and a bed to sleep in.
Someone needs to correct the gps location, when we are our friends search for location of the house it to be at Terrace and Fifth Street. Thank you
Visted Chama for the Cumbres Train. This house was a great location, close to the train station, and restaurants near by. The house was super cute and overall fairly clean. The beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. We loved the balcony upstairs to hang out and star gaze. All the rooms were upstairs and the stairs were pretty narrow to go up and down with luggage. There was a total of 4 of us and we were very comfortable.
I thought the house might be noisy being so close to town, but it wasn't! We all slept well in comfy beds, and the blackout shades kept rooms as dark as we wanted in the mornings. We liked the ample towels, plenty of dinnerware, nice pots and pans, and interesting artwork. We could walk to a nice coffee shop in the morning. Bear droppings in the yard got us excited, but we never did see one. Very interesting art work.
Interior of the house was very nice and clean. The exterior could use some work. The front porch looks like it's ready for Holloween with all the cobwebs on it. Thanks for the extra pillows and comfortable beds. The shower in the master bedroom is starting to show wear and could be upgraded.
This is a beautiful home with beautiful furnishings. Felt right at home when we got there. Could use a little cleaning out of the refrigerator/kitchen drawers. I usually like the house very cool and had a hard time getting the house to cool down. Good thing the weather was cool and it helped to have the windows open at night. Wouldn't be comfortable in hotter weather. Will definitely consider staying here again.
Property was very dusty, baseboards are dirty. No hand soap or shampoo (we were not told to bring our own), we were given the wrong internet sign on. Thankfully, someone had left a handwritten note stuck on the side of the refrigerator. We were 5 siblings, with 3 spouses and 2 birthday women. Our goal was to spend the day on the train, which made this location very convenient.
