"The lady at reception, Vera, was very cheerful and helpful. The motel itself was perfectly acceptable for the price we paid. We had a nice hot shower, heating for a cold night and a comfortable bed. The bed linens are old, but clean, and the room pleasantly decorated with homely touches. The room was not dusty musty and didn't smell of toxic carpet cleaner, as so many older motels do, so we were happy."

"The staff members at both check in and check out were kind, informative, and very helpful. The location is blessed to be by a grocery store (right across the parking lot) for easy convenience of items you might need. Restaurant availability is limited in the area with a McDonalds close by. Overall, a good hotel for the price and location. "

"Most of the motels in Ely are old structures from the '50s and perhaps even earlier. The owners of the Magnuson have done an excellent job of refurbishing the room. It was clean and tidy and the carpet looked new. Internet access is a little difficult but that's true in Ely generally. The TV kept fading off and on again it may be the issue with dish which is not of the owners making The water was lovely and hot. They had a large assortment of items in case you forgot them including small packets...
