"We had a fantastic stay at Vila Galé Braga and were genuinely impressed by how unique this hotel is. Set within a beautifully restored historic building, the property has a character and sense of history that really sets it apart from typical hotel experiences. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, and the overall atmosphere throughout the hotel was wonderful and inviting. The grounds and common areas offer plenty of space to unwind, adding to the sense that this is more than just a place to sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection and quality options. "We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great."

"Lovely hotel. Fabulous housekeeping staff. Pedro at the front desk was exceptional. Would have been 5star but breakfast could have been better. While a delightful friendly young woman in the dining area she missed very simple things ie: burners either missing or not lit (cold eggs, sausage, peppers,) some tables not cleared, low on food stuffs (on multiple days. I hope it’s not punitive for her and more a learning opportunity as she was very personable."
