Villa Mytilene II by Wonderful Italy

  • Splendid villa with views of the sea a few minutes away from the beach, ideal for a small group or a family.



    The villa, accessible going up a staircase, welcomes guests on the first level, where there is a bedroom fitted with a queen size bed and access to the terrace, and a bathroom with shower. An internal staircase leads to the lower floor which consists of a spacious living room with sofas and armchairs, a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, an oven and a kettle, and two bedrooms, the first one provided with a French-size bed and the second one with two single beds, one of which is convertible into a bunk bed. A second bathroom with shower completes the floor.

    The jewel of the villa is the outdoor area with a magnificent view of the sea, furnished with a dining table, sofas, deckchairs, barbecue and outdoor showers.

    The wonderful city of Cefalù offers one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. It is known for the Norman Cathedral, a XII century fortress-built like structure with elaborate Byzantine mosaic and tall twin towers, nearby the Museo Mandralisca that offers archaeological exhibitions. For an excursion with a sea view, do not miss the Rocca di Cefalù, also known as “U Castieddu” by the locals, a beautiful fortress whose top houses the ruins of the medieval castle. The coast of Cefalù comes with marvelous crystal clear waters and golden beaches for fun and relaxation, in a Mediterranean climate where to breathe clear air.



    5 minutes by car from the apartment there is Cefalù train station, while Palermo Falcone e Borsellino airport is 100 km away.

A beautiful villa in a magnificent setting near the Kalura beach. It’s a villa that must have been stunning in its day. The original family owners all had very good reviews. It’s just a little dated and lacks property maintenance at the moment. Its alfreco layout , numerous terraces, high quality design and build means it still makes a stunning residence. The views from all the terraces are superb and the landscape design of the garden and paths is well thought out. It’s just a little sad to see it lacking in some tender loving care and maintenance. A crisp and clean experience is instead leaning towards rustic. It does however remain good value for money and brilliantly situated. We had a car which helped with touring and groceries. We self checked in which suited us.

I do not recommend you waste your money on this property for the following reasons:1. The host is totally irresponsive, the check in process was done in a matter of minutes with very little explainations about the property2. We realised upon check in that the house was extremely dirty, the floors, bathrooms, toilets, dishes (the drinking glasses had mold on them as well as the coffee machine!) it seemed like the cleaning was not done following the last rental and the property had been empty for a while and it smelled like mold inside. We had to air out the house and clean the whole house as well as the patio which was covered with pine needles3. The house is advertised as "air conditioned", well the reality is there is only AC in the master bedroom which is on the top floor, the other rooms and the rest of the living areas are one floor down and there is AC there. It was 38 degrees in Sicily this August, the house was at 32 degrees at all times! The only way to refresh yourelf is to use the fans in the bedrooms, one of which literally blew up on my daughters face...We immediately communicated back with the host who advised us he would come back next day to fix things up, he did not show up and never replied to us the whole week we were there.
