Montauk Nature Retreat - 3 miles to Montauk State Park on Acreage!!
2/10 Terrible
"This place was invested with bugs of all types. Over 20 bugs (flies, centipedes, other types) were on the kitchen floor when we arrived. Some dead, some dying, some alive ( horse flies). Stove oven was nasty and needed to be cleaned. Wasps were outside the front and back doors. Excessive amount of Bird poop was on the front porch behind a plant on the left side of the front door. The upstairs bathroom had a mouse chew through a cabinet door next to the tub. There was corn kernels stored on one of the shelves inside the cabinet probably by the mouse. The big bed in the upstairs bedroom over the kitchen appears to have bedbugs as indicated by blood on the pillow case and a fully engorged bedbug we photographed. In the same bedroom near the small bed, scratching sounds were heard in the a/c vent. Might be the mouse previously discussed.Items such as hunting gear and house shoes were left from previous visitors in the bedroom closets. Trash cans in the house had various items left in them from previous cleaning activities. No paper towels provided. Some type of debris left in kitchen sink strainer from previous guests.Front porch floor paint was peeling badly and needs to repainted."
"What a stay. Best vrbo I've stayed in. The animals are amazing. People friendly as can be. Close to Mantauk that's why we went. Will definitely be back. This is the place to stay!!"
"We were disappointed with the room. The alarm clock with the phone charging ports didn’t work, the screen door was missing, the toilet you had to hold the handle down for the toilet to flush, only 2 tiny trash cans available, when I went to empty the trash, all of the outdoor trash cans were overflowing until the following day. We tried eating at the lodge in the dining room. Waited 20 minutes and still weren’t offered drinks or silverware and noticed everyone in the dining room were still waiting on their food, so we ended up leaving. A biker gang came into the parking lot revving up their engines and driving through the grass and a guy interrupted us and others very rudely on a paddle board while we were trying to fish talking ignorant to everyone saying he could do what he wanted. My husband and his family have been visiting for decades and this weekend was the worst experience we have ever experienced. Definitely not worth $500 for our stay."

10/10 Excellent
"Photos and listing description were exactly what we found when we arrived at this cute woodsy cabin! The porches were amazing and provided the outdoor living and relaxing space we were hoping for. House was clean, everything labeled, and the location was great. Thanks!"
