A Great Place To Stay

The house was perfect for our family gathering! It had everything we needed and more. Plenty of room for our family, and the kids loved the game room. The hosts were extremely friendly and prompt in their responses. We would not hesitate to come back.

This was a terrific property! The house was great and the property was very peaceful and fun. The house offered so much entertainment (games, pool table, dart board, etc.), we wish we had stayed longer. In addition, it had a wonderful heated pool with waterfall and a separate hot tub. To make things even better, the owner was quick to respond to any messages. We really enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend it!

3rd time here

Our family loves this place. One family member even commented that it feels like home when we’re here together. This is the 3rd family vacation at this place and we love the host, they’re so accommodating and thoughtful. The property offers something for everyone and the beds are incredibly comfortable.

Wonderful getaway

Very nice property. Wonderfully decorated with attention to detail. The pool has a really nice water fall that is relaxing. We enjoyed the movie by the pool. Game room was awesome. And the hosts were extremely polite and gracious.

A great New Year’s!

My family and I stayed here and it was wonderful. The pictures are accurate and I encourage anyone who is looking for a restful place to stay away from the city, to consider this place. Fishing was fun in the tank (perch and catfish) watching movies on the big screen by the pool was fantastic, and the use of the golf cart was a bonus. The hosts are nice and easy to deal with. Beds were super comfortable too. Plenty of space to relax and hang out.

Country oasis

We had the opportunity to stay here before so when we found out a friend’s wedding was in Cedar Creek there was no question on where we would stay. This home is very clean. The property has so much to offer. Our grandchildren stayed busy swimming, fishing and exploring. We will definitely be reserving it again.

Check in was super easy. Property was as advertised. Amenities were beyond great. Hershel & Becky were terrific hosts. The kitchen was equipped with any and everything you would ever need. The house & property were very clean. The pool was a definite highlight of this property. The outdoor kitchen with the sink, ice maker & refrigerator was a great added touch. Outstanding Home

This property was absolutely perfect in every way. The house was immaculate. It lacks for nothing. The kitchen was fully stocked with every item you could possibly need. The amount of towels in the bathrooms were over flowing. The pool area with the waterfall was spectacular. The outdoor kitchen was extraordinary. This is a 5 star top notch property. We are already planning our next trip. If you are in the area, don’t hesitate in choosing Mesquite Retreat!

Texan Oasis

The property description is just as it appears in real life. The house is definitely well cared for and has high tech functionality mixed in with its wonderful decor. Everything you need is within a 20min drive and there is plenty of kitchen to load up for your stay. The heated pool was awesome at night and the bedroom/bathroom situation was perfect for 4 families.. Definitely worth it.

Spacious Retreat

Our family loved this place! House is huge and plenty of outdoor space! Started off the morning on front porch drinking coffee and watching deer! Then moved to back patio- swimming, foosball for 6 yo, fabulous pool with lots of umbrellas, several grills for cooking, and ended day watching movies on huge outdoor movie screen! And did I mention the nugget ice machine!!! Owners were very easy and prompt to work with!!

Thanksgiving Gathering

Becky and Hershel’s property was magnificent and matches the description perfectly! They were awesome hosts that were very responsive throughout our stay. We had 6 adult couples, 2 teenagers, and 3 little and we were not cramped at all. The home is stocked with more than anyone could want, including an electric gravy boat! Nice touch for Thanksgiving. No one was left wondering what to do with so many options to do in the property. Our family had a fantastic and memorable stay and we highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and enjoyable vacation. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future.

EXCEPTIONAL getaway with all the amenities!!

As many reviewers have stated, the property is exactly as described, if not better. Tons of things to keep all age groups entertained, and the fishing was an excellent treat for the kids. They caught (and released) a lot of fish!!The sleeping accommodations were great with very comfortable beds, lots of towels, a kitchen that has everything you need to cook for a big group, and a ton of seating in the outdoor space which included pool, hot tub, fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen that has inspired a construction project at home.The owners are very quick to respond and accommodating.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone heading to the area. A perfect spot to rest, relax, and catch up with friends and family. We look forward to coming back!

Fun Spring Break Trip

Very Responsive Owners, they will quickly help you if any issues arise. Our family enjoyed the movie screen outside, smores, shopping in Bastrop (I never knew Bastrop had that much traffic), games, heated pool, hot tub, fishing, and boating. With the pond being 5 foot low the fish were SO easy to catch too! There was enough room for 7 of us to sleep comfortably. During our stay we experienced weather in the 50's and mid 80s, their AC and Heat worked well, beds were comfortable. Appliances for cooking were great- there is a cube ice machine on the patio along with a fire place.

Dream property

Our family of eight (six adults and two kids) stayed for three nights at Mesquite Retreat. While the lovely home was comfortable, clean, and spacious, we spent most of our time outside in the beautiful pool and hot tub area. The homeowners have thought of everything a guest might need—from pool floats and toys to beach towels to flotation devices for young children. Our family enjoyed lounging in the sun and shade, playing foosball, and relaxing in the beautiful backyard. The kids even got to feed the fish in the pond on the property. The highlight of our stay was turning on the pool lights and watching a movie by the pool. Our stay could not have been better. We attended the Formula 1 race at COTA, and the travel to and from the track from the house was very easy. Overall, this house is the perfect place to stay if you want to feel like you’re in “real Texas” while also having the amenities of Austin.

First off, amazing property! We stay at multiple Vrbo houses each year and I can definitely say this was on the top of everyone’s list to return back. The house and all is very well equipped and CLEAN! Cleanliness is top of our priority list if that helps anyone. The pool was 100% crystal clear, I was shocked to be honest how clear it was. Everything was well stocked and planned out. It looks like someone took their time in making sure every angle was covered for guest enjoyment. All the speaker systems were very convenient. The huge stack of pool towels and toy bin at the back door made it so much easier with the kids! Projector is a bit old but got the job done. There was a big wasp nest under the pavilion but that can be expected in Texas. Herschel gave us a run through of all the technology in the house/patio/pool when we arrived. Very hospitable and thorough. Appreciate the attention to detail! Thanks again and see you next time!
