'We stayed a few nights with Mark and Elizabeth, and all I can say is they are the best hosts ever. . .Our daughter loved the little playground next to the bakery, it was also a plus that Mark offered a stroller which we forgot at home. Every morning a hot breakfast was provided and it was delicious!'

Mark is an amazing host. The property is a wonderful gem in the redwoods to either recharge your batteries or just relax after visiting the coast or local wineries. Perfect place and amazing baked goodies.

Small but intimate close to nature
I thought the property was very well decorated very true to that area small but yet had everything I needed. I found that the fresh bakery items in the morning was an added bonus. It’s rarely that you actually get breakfast at B&B these days loved it.
Mark was a wonderful host. Each morning Mark brought hand roasted coffee beans and home made pastries for breakfast. The cottage is filled with books and records and was the perfect place to relax. Thanks Mark!
We came up to the property on Friday night and enjoyed the pre-ordered pizza and the live music. The property/cottage was cozy and clean, but could use a little improvement inside and outside. Overall, we had a very nice trip and stay.
The Elim Cottage was a wonderful get away in the Redwoods, and Mark was a fantastic host. I came during the bakery's off-season, so it wasn't open, but Mark still went out of his way to provide me with amazing baked goods each morning, and freshly roasted coffee.
The cottage was very comfortable, nice bed, good water pressure, but it is definitely tiny, which is what I was looking for.
I'm looking forward to checking out the bakery in on -season now that I know about it, and bringing my family up for a staycation.
Looking forward to staying here again!
We were attending a music camp nearby and this was the perfect setup for us. Everything was super comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing - freshly baked bread, pastries and fresh roasted coffee to grind and brew in your own room. There are not really cooking facilities in the room aside from a microwave and toaster; this wasn't a problem for us at all but might be for you if you are planning to cook your meals. Mark (the owner) is great! You should definitely make sure to spend some time talking with him. We are looking forward to going back next year!
What a special place to land for a quick getaway from Oakland. Sweet little cottage tucked into the redwoods. Make sure you come for Friday night pizza. The host clearly has a gift for community building. Pizza and music under the redwoods seems to be the thing to do on a Friday night and was a magical touch to the weekend. We loved getting to dip in for music and eats and then retreat to our little cabin nearby. Very sweet and magical garden full of repurposed treasures. Easy access to the coast and Russian river, we hope to return and check out the other cottages. Host was very welcoming and accommodating. He offered many suggestions for local food and fun.
Great Host, Great pastries, bread and coffee. Lots of places nearby to hike and enjoy nature. A unique, eclectic, funky spot with a very relaxed, easy vibe
We stayed for a long weekend and couldn't have been happier. Mark was a lovely host and went out of his way each morning to bring us freshly baked goods. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the Russian River area
I have nothing but kind words to say about this bed-and-breakfast! I would recommend them until I am blue in the face. Not only were the pastries every morning wonderful the scenery was unreal. The aesthetic of the cottage itself gave a rustic old time feel that really disconnected you from technology and all your worries of life. I cannot express into words how wonderful of a host mark is. Staying here is absolutely wonderful and when the time comes that I am back in this area, I will not stay anywhere else.
We had a great stay! The cottage was cozy and clean, check in process was simple and easy. Nice quiet spot on the creek. We were lucky to come in on a Friday when the bakery makes pizzas and has live music. Breakfast of fresh baked bread and pastries brought to our front door was absolutely delicious.
We had a wonderful time staying at Raymond's! Mark is a great host, very friendly and helpful. The cottage we stayed in was extremely cozy and well equipped. We loved the community pizza night and LOVED the pastries in the morning! Great walks nearby and so much to do in the area. We will definitely come back!
Just what we needed! A weekend in a beautiful place! Mark is a wonderful host and will spoil you with baked goods and freshly roasted coffee beans! We can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful Fri Eve pizza & music night. Loved hearing the orchestra band camp throughout the days as well. Loved that turn table & records were provided. However
It felt like this place was straight out a movie set. Charming, unique, baked goods delivered every morning, Friday night pizza night and live band. I am so glad we chose to stay here! Mark & his family were, hands down, the most welcoming and kind hosts. My husband and daughter enjoyed looking and listening to records and reading the huge assortment of books. It was the perfect retreat/vacation as we brought my daughter to college. Can’t wait to stay again.
We arrived on a Friday afternoon and Mark greeted is right away and showed us around the property. Mark is a fun and gracious host who takes pride in making his guests feel comfortable. We took the goats for a walk with him and explored Austin Creek which is adjacent to the property. Beautiful redwoods and green moss and ferns are abundant around the grounds and some fun enchanted objet d'art sprinkled around the property add a special charm.
Our cottage was cozy and comfy. A huge library of books from every genre, and some vinyl to play on the record player was a fun extra! We watched dvd's in the front room and Netflix in the bedroom. Wifi worked best in the bedroom.
Each morning Mark brought us an amazing plate with freshly baked sourdough, pastries, and a cup of beans to grind in the grinder provided on the coffee cart in our room. This was our favorite perk of our stay!
We did order a pizza on Friday night that was yummy as well!
We will be back soon!
The little cottage was all I needed to sleep in while visiting relatives in the area. As many have commented, the proprietor's baking skills can only be matched by his graciousness.
The cottage was very cute and was a great launching spot for our activities in the Russian River Valley. The morning delivery of pastries is an extra perk! Try going on a Friday so you can participate in the pizza and band night outside the bakery.
