  • This house is located right on the lake, on a very quiet and peaceful road. The property is great for swimming, fishing, ice fishing, sun bathing, boating, grilling, kayaking, paddle boarding, reading and family fun time. The views are amazing, and the swimming is wonderful on this part of the lake. The house is perfect for a family or group of friends. There are 4 kayaks and 1 paddle board on the property. This house also includes central air, wifi, a dishwasher and a griddle style grill. There is a smart TV and DVD player, but no cable.

Beautiful escape away

Perfect place to just get away for a few days and relax/unwind. Absolutely beautiful views and friendly neighborhood. Downtown was a convenient drive and Rutland is a short drive away for more choices to eat out. Truly enjoyed our stay!

This is a great place for a family or friends gathering with a beautiful location by the lake and all you need house including games for the kids, a fire pit and kayaks for some water fun activity

Cute getaway spot!

Stayed here with friends on a snowboarding trip and absolutely loved it. Great views, the house was clean, and everything we needed to cook was there already. Check in/out instructions were clear and simple and the host communicated clearly. We loved it here and are already talking about coming back!

Middlebury Family Weekend Visit

We stayed at the lake house while visiting Middlebury for Family Weekend. Spent a gorgeous Saturday afternoon on the deck with family catching up. Beautiful setting. House was comfortable, quiet and well-stocked with kitchenware, etc. Would love to stay there again another time.

This house was perfect for a quiet Fall getaway. The manager was quickly responsive to any questions or concerns. Sitting by the fire pit next to the lake was just the “pause” I needed.

Another nice stay

This is not our first time at this property. We have stayed here a couple of times as a home base for visiting our son at nearby Castleton University. We tailgate at football games and it is a perfect spot to prep from . It is serene for when we need post game peace !

Idyllic quiet out of the way setting

If you are looking for a quiet off the beaten track lakeside setting in a well manicured house, you can't go wrong here. Plenty of space for a family with multiple private bedrooms and a large basement which could be both or either a communal or sleeping space. Plenty of room outside on deck and yard. The pictures are representative. The owner and manager communication was very thorough. Highly recommended if you are targeting this area of beautiful VT. We look forward to returning.

The Great Escape on the lake

The house, the location on the lake are magnificent. It was a hot weather week, and the central air was a perfect way to cool off, if we were not taking a swim. Everything about the house, especially the redone bathroom’s, we’re excellent. If I could improve one thing, it would be making it a bit easier to get down the hill to the lake from the house. We already are booked for next year. We loved it. 👍

My wife and I had fun with the kids and grandkids, despite deck umbrella didn’t work, bbq leaks propane’s we only used once. The place needs a landscaper to weed wack all the weeds. I wouldn’t had said a word, but you asked. We love the house and location, and hope to be back. Thanks Tom

Castleton Lakefront

The location was beautiful. The house inside was ok. Furniture in the TV room was a little dirty so we covered them with blankets from the bedrooms. The carpet in the downstairs was a little dirty but not bad. We just wore socks while we were there. The beds were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. The outside of the house was a mess. Patio door was extremely hard to slide open and close. Outdoor furniture was very dirty and random junk was all over the yard. Broken garden hoses, plastic cups, a broken broom and full soda bottles on the deck. House has so much potential outside. It has a gorgeous view of the lake.

So much potential; but needs some TLC

We really wanted to give a higher rating as there is so much potential at this great lakefront, cozy place but it needs work. Inside, bedding, bathrooms clean Kitchen is well stocked Supplied linens good Check in easy Comm from prop mgr great Love it has laundry Concerns made our short 3 night stay more uncomfortable than we hoped and they would stop us from wanting to stay longer or again: While it was Clean, the inside could use a deep clean Outside deck was a mess; no attempt to clean at all which basically made it unusable due to excessive dirt on all chairs/tables. Also dangerous for small kids. Some rotted areas, splinters and railing is too high off the deck to be safe. All this with the deck being a huge part of the selling point. The main door/slider is VERY difficult to open and close, while the screen door was too easy, frequently coming off rail and not closing completely allowing bugs to enter freely (remember this is a VT lake home; so a lot of bugs come with the area) All outside toys, kayaks, etc were very dirty. Usable, but gross. Not what was expected given they are highlighted as amenities. Not enough seating for everyone. The house comfortably sleeps 8, but main section of seating does not Outside vegetation is overgrown We stayed 5/16-5/19 and know its a lakehouse. Maybe not fully open yet for season, but then description should have noted in alot more detail and price should not have been as high. If above was fixed, it would be a good option

Weekend on the lake

My family has stayed here 2 weekends and it was perfect for us. Great location and perfect area to relax. Our dog enjoyed swimming and we enjoyed fishing. Great communication with manager also. Look forward to staying here again!
