"Just staying for a night in the main lodge as this was an economical choice during VT move in week. It provided the basic necessities and was pleasant for what it was and the price point. The overwhelming theme of the past did not personally deliver in the current state presented. While quaint and charming, we didn’t get much more than something to check off our list. While staff in general were polite, beyond the registration staff, didn’t really get the welcoming touch from other staff, and especially grounds staff. When pulling up to such an iconic place, one would think the grand old entrance/one way entry would not be semi-blocked by a beat down and half rusted truck. The lack of structure and control in this and some basic external maintenance makes me wonder if management really sees what their patrons see."

"Stayed there for one night after dropping off my daughter at Virginia Tech. Really pretty property, pool is well maintained, and breakfast (made by Sherry!) was fantastic - get the ham cups! Great stay, responsive owner (we accidently locked ourselves out of our room and Paul was super helpful) overall would highly recommend"

"This is a clean place to lay your head and shower on a budget. If that is what your budget needs then this is ok. It is an older property and they are slowly trying to improve it. That being said the pictures don’t really look like the rooms so lower expectations. Free simple breakfast, rustic pool, very close to Radford ."

"The house is stunning and the hostess, Christy, is amazing! We were unable to have breakfast at 9:00 (we were staying for work not pleasure), and Christy provided us a quick continental breakfast. She was wonderful!!! Our room (Blakemore #7) was beautiful and comfortable. The only thing that needs improvement is the water pressure in the shower."

"My son, dog, and I had a nice stay at this cabin. It was in a peaceful location and we enjoyed some rest and relaxation, as well as a nice hike to Cascade Falls only 25 minutes away. The communication with the host was immediate any time I reached out, which was really nice to see. They were very accommodating when I had an issue with the hot water and heat and said they would have someone out right away to look at it, but I opted to finish my stay since I was only there 2 nights, and then have someone come to look at it. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the rain. The bed was comfortable. They had cooking supplies so that I could heat up some meals we brought which was great. There were a number of cobwebs, but I didn't see any spiders inside and you are in a cabin so some wildlife was expected. Overall it was a nice stay. Thank you for having us!"
