"Last minute booking for us (having messed up booking a different place). Absolute bargain and a great place to stay. Parking was easy, just outside, and free too. We had a disabled badge, but were offered a parking disc when we arrived. Room was lovely, facing the street, but that wasnt a problem as it was quiet in the main. Large room with very comfy bed and really lovely en suite. Bedding and towels were pristine. Breakfast was included, which they asked us to pre order the night before. We had the full English, and there were cereals too, with fruit juices and a pot of coffee or tea. Location was perfect; central, just off the market square so no noise. Would highly recommend. Thank you to the staff that made us so welcome."

"Our room was not clean - filthy window frames, the room and bathroom was dusty and grubby everywhere. The staff were all friendly but on our arrival we had to go and find a member of staff to check us in - it was deserted. Checking out was lengthy as there was confusion from the hotel about what we had booked and paid for, we were clear about our booking and showed our digital booking forms but the receptionist was not convinced by it. "

"Great location and really friendly & helpful staff. Although there were none visible during our stay, dogs are welcome for a small charge. Parking is understandably at a premium due to its village location. Check out of 10am but people naturally leave there cars whilst going for a walk. This means the car park was still full at the 3pm check in time. There is spare parking available at another property but it’s always best to have your car where you’re staying. Superb walks from the doorstep up to Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and round to the beautiful Janet’s Foss. We had a meal in the Lister Arms whilst we stayed there. Although it was nice we felt it didn’t live up to the AA rosette standard they’ve been awarded. The breakfast however was amazing. Fresh( & we presume) local produce that was hot and plentiful. Cereals and toast as well as decent tea made it a hit "

"Room was in good condition however it was a disabled room that was not advised on booking. There was an intermittent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Seeing the disabled room I immediately requested a room change but here was not much enthusiasm as we had a 2 night stay and was told the hotel was full the following night so not much they could do and on the first night there were currently no other made up rooms. Overall the staff at the bar and in the restaurant and around the hotel were very good however breakfast on Sunday morning left a lot to be desired in terms of service as anything cooked took an age to arrive and my wife after at least half an hour gave up on hers but it did arrive as we were leaving! The grounds and facilities are excellent. On departure I was clear to my complaint on the room, I was offered a token without any any investigation and offered access to speak with the deputy manager. I declined both and hoped it would have been dealt with differently as my point was not financial and being fobbed off with £50 and having to request the manager did not feel right. My intention was to convey disappointment with the room in the hope of investigation and recognition to a problem with some assurance it would not remain an issue for others. I left feeling no one really cared! "
