Cabin #2 - "Kitchitikipi"
Cabin #2 - "Kitch-iti-kipi" Kitch-iti-kipi (KITCH-i-tee-KI-pee) means "big cold water". This 202 sq ft cabin is named after Michigan's largest natural spring in Schoolcraft County. A popular destination for guests who stay here at Lakeside Cabins.
This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the late 1920's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rough around the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.
All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.
This one room cabin is 202 sq ft and sleeps 2 people in the queen size bed which adjoins the kitchen and dinette. The bathroom is simple, the shower is warm and the kitchen has everything to cover your basic needs. The spacious 10’x7' enclosed porch overlooks the water. A perfect area to enjoy a quiet evening watching the loons. The cabin has 1 electrical outlet near the bed and other electrical outlets minimally located throughout the cabin.
Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.

Love the view of the lake. Cabin was perfect small and cozy perfect for a couple. I loved that we could bring our dog. Meet some great people. I would definitely go back!!
These cabins are exactly as advertised. Such a nice little getaway spot. Super close to lots of wonderful activities. Mackinac City/island, Wilderness State park, etc. It is definitely the perfect little base camp to use while exploring the area!
We had a phenomenal stay! The cabin was so cute and clean and had a wonderful view of the lake! The owner Ritchie was such an amazing guy to work with and is an incredible host! He went out of his way to make sure we had the perfect time there! Will be coming back to stay there for sure!!
My daughter and I stayed here for a birthday celebration. Was there perfect little cabin the lake was beautiful the owner was friendly. Supposed to everything in Mackinac Island. Will definitely be back
Peaceful the lake is a beautiful lake.and the cabin was perfect.conveniently located .we enjoyed our stay.would have liked to check in earlier or been able to check out later.
Stayed 2 days. Feels like you are very remote but in reality it’s probably a 15 minute drive to Mackinac city which is very touristy and great access to the ferry to Mackinac Island.

Cozy and quaint
Beautifully picturesque setting. Information in greeting folder at cabin should be included in VRBO descriptions. Had a fun time exploring them exploring the area.
If you love rustic, this is the place for you. The cabin has a nice kitchen, bathroom and bed. If you’re looking for everything perfect this is not the place for you, but the price is fantastic and the accommodations are very acceptable.
We had a great time.(4) Cottages for us, our (3) adult children and their children were very comfortable. The screen porches were an added bonus. All want to come back to enjoy the lake and cottages. Many things to do within a (30) mile radius.
What a wonderful place! Cabin was super clean and simple. We loved it. The view was spectacular. The closeness of the cabins encouraged meeting your neighbors. That was a nice bonus. We'll stay again next time we're in the area.
Great experience. It was our 10th anniversary and we wanted a quite place to just get away. This was THAT! Close to the UP, which was what we wanted, very quiet, welcomed out dogs. It was tiny, but we expected and welcomed that. The bed was comfy, the cabin was clean, the kitchen had what we needed, the check in and check out process was simple. We even added a night without problem! Highly recommend

Not disappointed
Location to the lake was amazing! Loved waking up and looking out at the lake, however it wasnt the best for swimming. It was hot when we were there so it would be nice to be able to open more windows. Really glad i brought a fan. It was really cute with a little more work it would be excellent. With that being said i believe the posting was honest, i got what i was expecting.
The property was very clean, and everything that we could have asked for.. Ritchie was absolutely awesome.. we blew a breaker in our cabin and I called him and he was there in less than 2 minutes and had it fixed.. He was very friendly and very prompt about everything. We arrived way earlier than we anticipated and he made sure the cabin was ready for us on very short notice.. we will definitely be returning next year.. it was an absolutely great place and we had an incredible time.
It is always a pleasure staying at Lakeside. The lake was lovely and we were able to sneak a campfire in between the rain storms. Make sure to read the notes that Ritchie sends your way as it spells out exactly what you need to bring - trash bags, shampoo, etc. On VRBO, the pet fee was not very clear. It read as 25 per pet not per night, so that was a surprise as we stayed 2 nights. That may be because I booked via mobile, though, and it did not show correctly. I was unable to add a pet to my listing so we had to let Ritchie add it for us. He was helpful and communicative, and prepared for us as soon ad we arrived. Our Georgia boy enjoyed the lake and the neighbors. .The ceiling fan is a tad wobbly while on the lowest setting, so we did not feel confident using it. We were just looking for air circulation, so we ended up opening the door. Otherwise everything else worked greatThere is an AC unit , so if it had been a hot weekend we would not have been in a bad spot. The cabin is right on Paradise lake with a private dock a little to the north, and the other cabins to the south. The morning views were very pretty, and there is enough sand to sink your feet in. The water looked very clean. There were kayaks and such on site, but it did not appear to be open when we were there. Thank you again for a lovely beginning to Autumn!
This was the cutest cabin. We absolutely loved it. Very cozy and comfortable and the VIEW just cant be beat. We are definitely going to be coming back.
This is a cute little one room cabin for 2 with a porch. We enjoyed relaxing and listening to the waves in the evening. As well as sitting on the porch with a warm cup of coffee in the morning watching the sunrise.

We were disappointed in the cabin. It is close to the lake and a good view.
