Such a perfect little weekend getaway spot for us. Cozy cabin feel with amazing views of the lake. A really relaxing stay for us. Loved the hot tub and the quiet calming vibe of the place. Will definitely stay her again in the future.
Quaint older cabin with lots of owner's personal touches. Comfortable bed and bedding. Filtered lake view through the pine trees. Nice decks and patio. Could use a deep cleaning and some upgrades (e.g., old toilet should be replaced, old furniture, add a dishwasher).
We loved this place! It was just the hubby and I with our 11 year old, so we shared the one room. The place is small but it worked. There is an additional room (separate from the main house) that you can add to your reservation. But I wish either the loft was available to use or it had a pull out couch. It was still perfect for what we wanted. Very nice and love the neighborhood.
The location and old Tahoe charm were great! The cleanliness was not good at all, bathroom surfaces and kitchen surfaces were not wiped, and I had to clean everything completely before any use. You could also tell everything was really dusty, not sure when the last time living room surfaces, and bedroom was dusted or wiped down. Luckily the sheets were clean and beds comfortable.
The furniture, deck space, and hot tub were all functioning and comfortable, with a nice view of the lake.
We had a wonderful week-long stay, with our pup. The space was perfect for us and we used all the amenities: the hammock, the views, the hot tub, and especially the deck and the stars at night! The neighborhood was great to walk around with our pup, and the views were better than expected. The living room furniture was comfy for curling up with a book to catch up with some recreational reading. We had warm weather so didn't use the fireplace. We appreciated the Lake Tahoe cookie and the fresh-ground coffee beans when we checked in! A nice touch. We've marked our calendar to reserve for next year. One note: our 30-pound dog was able to sneak under the deck gate, so we purchased some bungee cords so he wouldn't do that (temporarily looped them at the bottom of the gates where there was just enough gap for him to get through). Another note, not related to the property itself in any way: there seemed to be road construction on 28, and for some reason it went until midnight at least: jackhammering, generators, the works. We realize there is a short repair season, but we were surprised it went so late into the night and had a 2-3 hour break in the late afternoon. We loved our stay and can't wait to return!
Property looks like pictures online only more "tired." Felt like I was staying at my grandmas place. Sofa is worn and lumpy. (I know because I ended up sleeping on it due to the overwhelming smell in the bedroom.) Lots of loose rugs on all the floors which slide around and can be a tripping hazard.
View from front deck is very nice. Outdoor areas did not seem ready for our stay. Tables and chairs were dirty. So many instructions for using jacuzzi were enough for us to skip it. There was a strong cleaning odor that, I think, came from the laundry detergent used that I was allergic to. Many cupboards and closets were locked so I was unable to locate the source of the strong smell. Ended up leaving early and checking into a hotel.
Management company was helpful in working to to get a partial refund of 1 night's stay. Not the relaxing stay we had envisioned.
Nice place for the two of us to hole up for a couple days with the unexpected early cool and rainy weather at the Lake.
Guests have mentioned in the GuestBook before that the fireplace should be ready with wood and starter for our first night. All the loose, small rugs scattered everywhere are a majot trip hazard. Little rugs need a non-slip backing to keep them in place. All the sticky windows and doors require maintenance to ease them up.
All that said - we enjoyed the stay.
This cottage met most of our expectations, plus had a great view of the lake. I would've liked a fenced yard for our dog but our dog didn't seem to mind it. ;o). The cottage is conveniently located to stores and outdoor attractions.

Wonderful Stay
My wife and I came up here for a romantic getaway, and Moondance did not disappoint. It is great for a couple, and the extra bedroom would have been great if we wanted company on our trip.
Highly recommended, this was a wonderful stay!
This house was all we needed for a relaxing family getaway. The location was great in Carnelian Bay not far from shops and beaches in Kings Beach. The neighborhood was quiet and the partial lake view was beautiful.

Smaller than we thought and a bit dirty.
The place was in a great neighborhood/area and was very quaint but the house itself was much smaller than what the pictures portray. The floors, dishes (no dishwasher) and furniture were a bit dirty and the house was pretty hot with no AC (however they provide two box fans or you can crack a window so we managed).
The house contains several maintenance instructions from the actual homeowner scattered throughout, but there’s also instructions from Tahoe Moon Properties scattered throughout the house that contradict the homeowner’s instructions; so it can be a bit confusing.
TV remotes don’t really work too well. You can cast media on the TV using your personal devices, but there’s an info screen that pops up on the footer of the screen about every five minutes and we couldn’t seem to get rid of it. So if subtitles and a full view of the screen are necessary for you, then you may want to find an alternative.
We did however enjoy the plethora of games provided in the living room so that was great to have!
Lovely property, great location, cozy stay! We enjoyed the cabin and the view. Seemed to have all we needed to feel like home. Our older daughter enjoyed her own room away from the main house, great for someone who likes to sleep in. We enjoyed the lake view! We built a fire but smoke backed up into the room. We had to open all doors. We could not enjoy the fireplace, as it needs a chimney sweep. When you come to the mountains you want to enjoy a nice fire and it seems like the firewood should be supplied. The fireplace was the only negative thing on the trip. Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the cabin and will be sure to return!
This was a great rental for a weeklong getaway. Tahoe Moon Rentals made the whole process very easy. The property's a 10min drive to Tahoe City for groceries, restaurants, shopping , parks, etc. There's a working fireplace and great hot tub to keep warm. The one bedroom has both the king and twin-size beds together. There's a detached bedroom next to the hut tub with plenty of blankets/bedding, but with two people we didn't have the need for it. Some of the kitchen appliances were dated, but nothing we couldn't manage. There's an astro-turf are in the backyard would be great for dogs, but again we had no need. There are plenty of board games to use, but the TV only has a few basic channels, and there's a DVD player (not BluRay). The porch has a great view of lake through some trees. Such an easy location to get to and I would definitely want to stay here again if/when we can get to Lake Tahoe again!
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. A storm had just rolled through and dumped the seasons first snow. When we arrived (late in the evening) the lights were on and the heater had the place warmed up for us already. Everything was clean and cozy. We will be back again soon hopefully.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The front porch is gorgeous and has beautiful views of the lake . ( Partial views). The hot tub is newer and very clean. The only thing we would change is new/ different ice cube trays, a broom would be nice to have, it can get really dark around the hot tub at night, some ground lighting would be nice there and make things a little safer.

Disappointed with ammenities
The microwave was very old, very limited glassware. Only 1 wine glass- No kitchen or bathroom wash cloths. The one kitchen cloth was ripped up and full of long black hair. Only provided 1 roll of paper towel and 2 rolls toilet paper- hardly enough for a full week. Really needed a broom! So much pollen on the deck. Could not use the outside table shown in picture as a Bluejay occupied a full nest with baby birds in the opened-upper base of the umbrella. The two bedrooms really need fans. No airflow at all! Couldn't leave the master bedroom sliding door / screen open at night -afraid of Bears!
Bear warnings were posted everywhere. My last disappointment was the use of the TV. Rental information clearly stated not to mess with the TV system or we may face a $150 or more charge, BUT there were NO instructions to let us know how to use the equipment or what channels were available to watch. After our days out hiking we really looked forward to making our meals and relaxing for the evenings. We used by 7" ipad for entertainment. Big difference from a big screen TV as shown in the pictures. Very old & limited cooking supplies- reminded us of what we had when we would go camping. Last disappointment would be the lack of windows that would open. The bay windows in the living room
would fall off! and the windows in the kitchen and breakfast nook are all sealed shut. Would have loved to have the breeze come through.
The house floor plan is great and the front porch is where you want to spend each morning & evening! Location is Great!! Please take into consideration my comments . this could be a good property to stay on VRBO. This was my 4th house to rent through VRBO and the only one I needed to send any dissapointments.
We had a delightful time at Tahoe Moon Property! The location was great for hiking, going to the beach, shopping and dining. Views of Lake Tahoe from the property were wonderful. We were traveling with our small dog and we discovered many restaurants with pet friendly patios.
