Independent in Carlsbad

"This was a perfect stop when traveling between Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The room was very spacious and important areas clean. There was some dust, but the bathroom and bedding were clean and fresh. The room appeared recently remodeled with fresh window dressings and carpet. The staff was friendly and helpful with information regarding the Carlsbad Caverns evening bat program, as well as a list of restaurants in Carlsbad. A surprise of a complementary continental breakfast was also offered, which was much appreciated since food options are very limited in this area. I would definitely recommend this location, especially if planning to see Carlsbad Caverns. There isn't a closer option, with this National Park only about 7 miles down the road. That was especially helpful if you plan to go to the evening bat program and don't enjoy driving much at night."

"Facilities and room are not clean. TV continuously on when a guest arrives in a room and no instructions to shut the TV off is torturous. Front desk staff unable to help locate TV on off button - all these culminate into a terrible experience with this hotel"

"I would rate this as 3.5 stars if I could, simply because the furnishings in the room were quite sparse, e.g., only one chair despite there being lots of space. But the place was sparkling clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast options were good."
