This was our first experience booking with Hotels.com. We have always stayed in the local hotels. We were shocked by the current prices of the hotels that had available rooms. We were familiar with the hotels as we had stayed on previous visits to the county and knew the quality of the hotels did not merit a $200 per night stay. We decided to take a chance on this private residence and were pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable, room very clean and breakfast made to order was very good. We will definitely book this again on our next to the county.
Very nice bed and breakfast. Location is great. The room was cozy. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very accommodating and the breakfast was delicious! Will be back the next time we are in Caribou.
Attractively unusual and old-fashioned. The couple that own it, Kate and Kevin, are very gracious and welcoming. Beyond the interesting eccentricities, we had a lovely night sleep and deliscious breakfast filled with interesting conversation. We will stay here anytime we visit the area.
Staff was accommodating and friendly. Good breakfast especially the peanut butter muffins. Wish there had been a couple of comfortable chairs in our room. Interesting collection of old irons and antiques.
Fantastic bed and breakfast. Don't bother staying at the big hotel chains. I frequently come to the area for work and I was routinely going to the big hotel chains. I wasn't happy with my experience and thought I would give Old Iron Inn B&B a try. I was not disappointed. Kevin and Kate are amazing hosts and will go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. I will definitely be back and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a pleasant experience in the area.
Hosts were wonderful, gave us info on nearby towns, breakfast was amazing, the house is like a museum, 100s of antique irons. Would definitely stay here again.
What a gem! Rooms full of antiques. Coffee, tea, snacks available 24/7. Choose your breakfast including homemade muffins and breads every morning. Very helpful owners with suggestions of where to go, where to get dinner, and an offer to come get us if we got stuck out in the rain while biking. Where else would that happen!
You can’t go wrong staying at this inn.
I liked the fact that it is very close to downtown and the grocery store. The hostess is amazing with her knowledge of the area and its history. She makes good breakfast.
An added bonus is that you get to see a large collection of antique irons.
It was great! After a long day at work, then snowshoeing at Aroostook State Park, and over 3 to 3.5 hours of driving, it was nice to be at a nice warm dry place. They have a snack section of in-shell nuts, chocolate candy, hard candy, and tea and coffee. The breakfasts are really nice, too.
Kate and Kevin were very welcoming and Gracious hosts. Very Covid-conscious and safe. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the company and conversation over breakfast, was very delightful and informative on the history of the house and the irons.
Very Happy with our choice.

Thanks, Violet. It was lovely meeting you guys and we hope to see you again.
Very nice B&B in northern Maine! Very friendly host who talked with us and made recommendations on where to go and things to do. Also, she served a very nice breakfast.
This is an older property that is loaded with antiques. The hostess was very knowledgeable and informative. The food was excellent. We had a very restful stay.

This is a bogus review, as this guest did not stay at my b&b. This guest made a reservation on line with a bogus credit card, checked in, then promptly vanished. Other guests for the evening had already been turned away. Had this guest merely said after seeing the room that it would not work for them, I would have happily cancelled the reservation and let them find a motel (which is what they were clearly expecting). Plus I would not have had to stay up until midnight waiting for their return. Instead of behaving like grown ups, however, they simply turned tail and fled, leaving me with no recourse (the bogus credit card) and worse, turning down others who would have rented the room instead.
Lovely B&B. Hosts were really great. Breakfast was fantastic. Old bed not the most comfortable; but overall a very nice stay.

Thanks for the review, John - I wish you had mentioned something about the bed at the time, as there might have been something I could have done to make you more comfortable.
The hosts were very interesting and friendly. The craftsman home was charming and the breakfast was delicious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There were many books and snacks in the sitting room. There were heavy towels and bathrobes available in the bathroom. Everything appeared very clean. The location was very convenient to downtown Caribou and surrounding areas. We would recommend this B&B.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased you had such a good stay. Come back again soon.
As the only guest on the night I was there I enjoyed having the TV room all to myself. This was perfect for me as I needed to get caught up on some work. I don't think I would have enjoyed my stay as much if there had been other guests competing for the same space. I did not spend any time downstairs except for breakfast which was thoughtfully prepared & presented! I wouldn't describe it as "cozy" but it was functional and served my purpose for the evening. The location was convenient as well. I enjoyed interacting with the Innkeepers who were pleasant and sociable!
Small bed and breakfast. Kind and accommodating hosts. Kate and Kevin have lived in the area for many years and have had this bed and breakfast for close to 30 years. They definitely know what they are doing and it shows!
From the moment we arrived, Kate and Kevin greeted us and made us feel right at home! The Inn is beautiful and the breakfast delicious! Best of all was the wonderful conversation telling us all about the area and of course the history of their adventure. Highly recommended!
