Having stayed in the main resort before, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and quieter space that Manor House is. I definitely preferred my stay there better than the main resort!

Shocked to see frayed and stained carpet in our room and during the night I could constantly hear someone in the room next to ours coughing. The view from the room was over grown grass and a broken roof tile. I have enjoyed a stay at Manor House many times over the years but this is our first visit in five years and the quality of the room has declined. Not even a glass to have a drink of water.

A lovely stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and I appreciated clear labelling for all items. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool / spa was very nice although my 10 year old was disappointed that she was not able to use the jacuzzis due to her age. My old negative would be the £20 parking charge.

Second time staying in the Manor House and again very disappointed. Firstly parking is awful - no permanent disabled spaces outside, you have to park in the main underground car park which is chargeable and a long walk back to the Manor House. Secondly, the room had toenails on the floor, blood on the net curtains and used tissues behind the bed. Disgusting. The view out of the window was onto a roof which was littered with loads of rubbish, old paint tins, etc. Hardly what you would expect of a ‘5 star’ resort. Complained and only offered free parking and a bottle of wine - should have been upgraded immediately. Spa and pools are excellent, but booking system for the pool is ridiculous - allowing a 45 mins session! Staff are very good at waiving this though. There should not be any booking restrictions in place. Breakfast very good, Marta our waitress was wonderful, as were the staff and service as a whole. The hotel is next to a motorway and quite a distance from Newport town centre, so it’s costly to eat out if you need a taxi. Wouldn’t rush back to this hotel unless we had an immaculate room in the main resort.

Seen poor reviews before visiting however when we arrived I had the room card digitally but room wasn’t ready until 16.15 but cleaner on the floor said the room had been ready over 2 hours but he was more than happy to help and show us reception and our room. The room was very clean and the cleaner on our floor couldn’t do about for us when we arrived. Had a reservation in Pad restaurant, that again did not disappoint. Overall enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Only downfall is I think it’s quite a late check in and walking from the resort into the manor I could not find the reception.

An iconic venue but a bit dated and needs more tlc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car parking miles away and still charged £10 despite being an outside area.

The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was greeted by the receptionist when checking in, who assumed I was a taxi driver instead of a guest staying in the hotel. I found this very rude and judgemental and never would have expected to be greeted in that way.

We booked Celtic Manor House Hotel, but this is just the side entrance to the Celtic Manor Resort. The Resort has Spas, Swimming Pools and gym available on the usual terms if you want them but this is a vast Conference Centre and it can be noisy and we were woken several times in the night. Note that parking is (currently) £20 extra per night, so bear this in mind when you are planning your stay in Newport and area.

The room was cold as there was no heating . The room service was cold and dry, even after sending the 4 meals back they still wanted to charge me .. The Manor is dated and in need for refurbishment

alright hotel, but a kid did throw up in the pool, a robe got stolen from us at the spa and someone did open the door as we had an adjoining room. Not to mention slow service at both the hotel and restaurant

Good stay but have to book use of the pool. Despite checking in really early (around 1200 hours) the earliest pool slot available was for 1800 hours which meant being a little rushed to go for food in the evening.

Fantastic accommodation and facilities, lovely staff. On occasions you can get rooms at excellent rates but they make up for it other ways. In the bar - £19 for a burger and nearly £8 for a pint. Also the outdoor carpark (£8.50 per night) is 500m away up a very steep hill, the underground carpark is £20 per night.

Lovely grounds. The foyer of the resort is stunning. Most of the staff were lovely, especially James a night concierge. My only complaint with facilities is that one of the pools could be longer, for Lane swimming and a cold plunge pool would be nice. I’m disabled, so loved the shuttle and parking. The Manor House is a little dilapidated and needs some attention but the rooms were nice and access to the resort made up for it too some extent.

Full of not nice surprises
Being asked for a £50 deposit for each of the rooms booked wasn't a nice experience - let's see how long that takes to get refunded .. Parking in Wales at £17.50 was a expense that makes the stay even more surprising And not to miss - breakfast being served at 07.30 when on line it's 06.30 might not seem much I'd a complaint, but when you can't pass the meal into another employee because he wasn't in the room but could wait until the restaurant opened just rubbed salt into the wounds

Great rooms but service is poor.
On arrival trying to find the hotel reception was problematic as it’s not properly signposted from the main hotel lobby. The app for quick check-in and digital door key doesn’t work. Worst of all an unauthorised payment was taken by the hotel on my credit card. I’m told this has been refunded but, at the time of writing, no refund has been made.

Always wanted to stay in this hotel and overall I was disappointed. The Manor Suite, whilst connected to the main hotel is run down, smelt of damp, room was tired and in need of refurbishment. Parking is awkward as you have drop off park, then only have 20 mins to check in, drop off bags before driving up a steep hill to park again overnight at a rate of £8.50 (Expedia quotes £20 which is for parking in the underground car park). You then have to walk back to the Manor House. Spa was nice, with good facilities but lots of lockers out of order and a shower not working. Constantly asked ‘have you booked?’ before access, when not advised of this. Most staff friendly, professional and helpful. Room service meal portion was very small. Breakfast was ok but not the best. The main hotel is enormous with lovely interior design features and immaculately clean. Good resort facilities. Concierge was very helpful at the end of my stay getting me a ride to the car park.

Old and tidy hotel.
Staff were great and the food was very good, but the hotel needs a full refurbishment, the rooms were very tidy leaking rooms. I personal would not stay here again.
