This fabulous 18th century, warm, detached chocolate box cottage, was totally renovated in 2009 and has since been winner of numerous National Quality Awards and has everything to offer on your luxurious break. The living room has a fabulous stone fireplace with wood burner and along with the dining room enjoys Abbey views, while the ground floor bedroom has views overlooking the garden. The bedrooms on the first floor both have views across to the Abbey. Outside, the large front garden is unfenced to make the most of the amazing Abbey views and the stunning countryside of this beautiful conservation area, the rear garden is enclosed with patio furniture, cantilever umbrella and barbecue.
Located right opposite the magnificent Abbey in the historic riverside village of Tintern, it lies within the original Abbey curtilage. Tintern itself is within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has pubs, restaurants, cafés and craft shops, children’s play area, a convenience store, vineyard, and a brewery all within a few minutes’ walk. Enjoy locally produced ice cream, cheese, and home cooked food at the local eateries. There is a monthly local produce market in the village.
Locally, explore dramatic Chepstow or Raglan castles, make your own craft gin at the distillery, hire a bike, go horseracing, or try fishing, canoeing or a thrilling zipwire! The area is a haven for wildlife and boasts great birdwatching too. Within a short drive are the many visitor attractions of the Royal Forest of Dean including a steam railway, caves, and film locations and in the other direction the Brecon Beacons await. There is something for every age group in this wonderful location.
