Rude, bad-tempered staff. The food was awful, barely anything edible apart from the breakfast eggs. Old dilapidated facilities and rooms, at one point we even stepped on some tarmac on the way to the beach. Bar drinks weren’t better than gasoline.

Initially I wasn't overly impressed with the facilities when I got there and looked around; however, after seeing multiple other resorts on the peninsula and experiencing what Barlovento has to offer, I came around by the end of our trip. Here are a few things I noted: Overall - This resort has seen a few decades and shows its age in places, but then again who doesn't? Walkable into town. At the end of the hop on/hop off bus route which is convenient. 2 main pools and an amazing beach. About 12 cats live on property which my girlfriend loved. Resort activities are lacklustre, but the nightly shows are well done. WiFi in the lobby and around the pool which is $1/hour. Food - Didn't get a chance to try a la carte dining because they were already booked despite being half-empty each night, so only had buffet. For hot food, stick to the quick-fire stations: omelettes in the morning and pasta/meat/fish stations for lunch & dinner. Otherwise there are always large pans of pasta,rice, and speatzle which are usually hot. For dessert there is fresh fruit and what we called "50 shades of cake" which all seemed to have the same basic flavour Staff - Friendly and willing to help you. Iris & Alejandro in the buffet dining room and Eddy on the pasta bar were all amazing. The team at the bar in the lobby were the only staff that we weren't overly impressed by. I know they're busy, but not nearly as attentive as the rest of the staff. Rooms - Clean and comfortable. 5 english TV channels

We liked the swimming pools and the beach, just next to the hotel. The problem was the food. They have a buffet restaurant where you eat always the same things, very repetitive. They have a Mexican restaurant for dinner as well but you need to book it in advance and it was full for the following days so we didn't have the opportunity to try it... What's more, it was not possible to eat anything out of lunch/dinner time!! And drinks were not always available, it was almost noon till we could have a drink at the bar next to the swimming pool...

Answer for your information: The food here is excellent, controlled and documented every day, besides I eat the same thing every day, customers and control everything, you can say, for Cuba where we are, it is excellent. The right, to eat in an à la carte restaurant, has from one week in the Hotel. Before not, when we have the possibility, by capacity, it is possible by kindness, but when not, no. In addition, when buying is with booking or Expedia, it is notified on the portal, the food is in the Buffet Restaurant. We do not know what they are talking about, the Lobby Bar, which is open 24 hours, is the bar where drinks are taken. The Bar next to the Theater, opens at 16 PM, and is not the Pool bar, but there is a Bar with drinks next to ranchón (2nd Pool) that opens at 10 AM, and the Beach Bar, which opens at 10 AM Then it is not correct that and as he says, gentlemen!

Go for the beach access, the pools, and the pleasant rooms. These were all very nice. The food was pretty terrible (coming from someone whose fine eating Ramen and tuna most nights) and the entertainment was laughable. I was expecting something at least with a Cuban flare on a Saturday night, not bad covers of old American pop music. Know that your not really in Cuba when you're here. 30 hours here was an excellent way to end our month in Cuba, but I wouldn't want to spend more than that.

The staff and facilities at Barlevento are excellent. This is not a five star hotel so it must be judged according to its rating. I am a repeat visitor to this hotel and if I return to Veradaro I will go back here.

Dear Sir, from the first moment you arrived at the hotel, you went to the reception in bad shape and mistreated employees of different areas. The room assigned to you was not dirty, you just did not like its location and it was in perfect condition.At no time was the service offered wrong for you or any other customer at home. Nobody offer you any compensation at any time, or any employee or from me as Director General, all this is false and you yourself have made a show generating annoying situations to provoke our staff and pressure according to your convenience.At 6pm we found them and asked why they had not left their room at the time, and from there they began to say falsehoods, and they did not want to leave the hotel but also did not pay, they had to call the police and emigration to inform about his attitude, and we are not going to talk about the show you doing with clients and our staff with bad forms.

We stayed in hotel 2 nights. The room was dirty and noisy. We wrote to you. Then the costomer survise told us we get 1 more night for free as compensation. Today at 17:00 they suddenly told us we have to leave this night, not as told before. It is a night mirror. They just throw us away!

The room assigned to you was not dirty, you just did not like its location and it was in perfect condition because I personally checked the room 1 hour before your arrival, there was no problem from the reception and you were shown 2 more rooms, so that you decided which one you liked according to your location, these were equally clean and in perfect condition because I also personally checked in advance, you found me in the room area, without knowing that I was the Director General and that I was reviewing the entrance rooms of our guests to ensure the greatest comfort for these. Nobody offer you any compensation at any time, or any employee or from me as Director General, all this is false and you yourself have made a show generating annoying situations to provoke our staff and pressure according to your convenience. His departure, like that of the rest of the clients, is at 12: 00 hours, when the checkout is made and the client must leave his room as in all the hotels in the world. At no time did anyone offer you more time in the room. At 5pm we found them and asked why they had not left their room at the time, and from there they began to say falsehoods, and they did not want to leave the hotel but also did not pay, they had to call the police and emigration to inform about his attitude, and we are not going to talk about the show you doing with clients and our staff with bad forms and obscene words. I stayed here couple weeks ago and the place itself is decent for the price. A bit old but the rooms was good as in clean and stuff working. The pools were nice with places to sit. The shows were a great source of entertainment. Its a hotel for older people. The beach facilities were nice and staff was friendly. The flip side is the food area, although there were a lot of different food, I DID NOT like the amount flies sitting on the food, not sure if that's in CUBA generally but this was very poor there must be a way to keep out the flies. Food was okay (not great). Drinks were not strong as well. My main problem was the food and flies.

Stayed here for 6 nights in June. Room was comfy, and the AC worked well. The water pressure and hot water worked well in the bathroom. Both pools were very clean, and the beach was lovely. The all-inclusive food was good, and so were the nighttime shows. Staff were always helpful and friendly. (** There is no GYM or NIGHTCLUB on the property) Overall we had a genuine good time, and would return.

We could not get a reservation the same day for the Mexican or Fusion restaurant, even though it seemed fairly empty. We were there only one night and therefore were limited to the buffet. The room we had was clean and decently comfortable, but at night the nightclub kept us up until 3am-- the room vibrated with the music. We were generally not enthused other than the access to the beach here.

By the beach and walk into town
Roc Barlovento is at the economical west end of the peninsula. So it's a shorter ride from the airport and an easy walk into town. The beach is nice and clean as are the three pools. This hotel seems to attract a more sedentary clientele, many of whom are smokers. The "fitness" room was locked and doesn't appear to get much use. No bicycles were available to rent. Be warned about the on sight travel bureau. My wife paid app $120can for a day tour. The bus was a no show. She was refunded only half of her payment, as the driver claimed that he had waited 15 minutes for her. Absolutely not true. Clearly he missed stopping at this hotel on his run through to pick up clients. The company is state run, so no hope of getting a full refund.

Friendly staff and steps to beach
The staff are very friendly and warm. The facilities are good and because it's all inclusive, there are bars and concession everywhere for the guests. Entertainments and games throughout the day with the headline dance performance and variety show in the evenings. Wifi cards can be purchased at front desk and Wifi access is available in the Lobby. Overall the resort is nice and pleasant, and the rates are good for October. We will go back and stay there again.

Excellent hotel and facility for the value of mone
Great location; easy access to the beach. This all inclusive hotel is all what u need for a relaxing and nice vacation. Plenty of food and beverage all day long. Clean pools, very friendly and helpfull staff, always smiling. I was surprised to read the other reviews about the food. There is a wide variety of food at the buffet and according to Cuban standard the food is really excellent. As for the a la carte restaurants, i don't think it is a good choice. Who wants to eat suchi and mexican or oriental in Cuba. I felt portion was not enough and didn't like my choice. So my recommendation is to stick to the buffet restaurant. Cleanliness needs little attention from the hotel. But in general very good facility I recommend this facility

The Hotel was very dirty, the rooms smelled and the beds were terrible to sleep in. The food was usually cold and did not taste good. We even saw a mouse in the hotel restaurant. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Hi, I don't agree with your opinion at all! First you have not said anything here at the Hotel, and then saying everything is wrong is very bad of you and not correct. When they look at the other opinions they say the opposite. Here everything is clean and comfortable, our Hotel is an original Colonial Hotel, but when you like a new hotel, you need to change the Hotel. Everyone has their own taste, and so does the food. Wir sind hier in Kuba und nicht in Europa, wenn sie ein Problem haben sprechen sie mit dem Kunden Service. Aber nicht hier ankommen und alles schlecht machen, so geht das nicht!
