A Casa da Chavella is a traditional Galician country house, carefully restored to create a comfortable and peaceful holiday home.

It is located in a small rural village, just a few minutes from the beaches, surrounded by nature and with excellent connections for exploring both A Costa da Morte — its beaches, villages, forests and Atlantic landscapes — and the rest of Galicia.

The house is rented exclusively to one group and offers 270 m² of living space over two floors, accommodating up to 10 guests. It has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The house is set within a beautiful private grounds of approximately 4,000 m², for the exclusive use of our guests. It includes a fully enclosed 1,000 m² garden, a swimming pool with safety fencing for children, and a small organic vegetable garden.

The restoration combines elements of traditional Galician architecture with a contemporary and timeless design. Most of the furniture was specially designed for the house and made from reclaimed hardwoods, with a clear intention: to make it feel like a home that has been lived in and loved from the very first day.

The generous spaces, functional design and connection with the outdoors make the ground floor and garden accessible to guests with reduced mobility, allowing everyone to enjoy the house in comfort.

Although it can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, A Casa da Chavella is equally suited to couples, families and groups of friends. Its spaces, layout and connection between the house, garden and surrounding landscape make it welcoming whether you are staying as a couple or sharing it with a larger group.

LIVING ROOM & DINING AREA:

The heart of the house is its spacious living and dining room, arranged around the fireplace into different areas: a comfortable sitting area, a reading and games corner, and the dining area, with a large reclaimed-wood table specially designed for long meals and relaxed evenings together.

The valley can be enjoyed from both the living room and the kitchen. In winter, the fireplace makes it tempting to stay indoors; during the warmer months, life naturally moves outside to the garden, covered porches and terrace.

KITCHEN:

The high-end kitchen is fully equipped and designed for guests who enjoy cooking during their holidays.

5 BEDROOMS & 3 BATHROOMS:

The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

On the ground floor there are two spacious and comfortable bedrooms, which can be prepared either with a double bed or twin beds, as well as a fully accessible bathroom.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: one with a double bed and access to a sunny terrace of more than 50 m²; another with a double bed and dressing room; and a suite that can be prepared with either a double bed or twin beds and features a hydromassage bathtub.

PRIVATE GARDEN, SWIMMING POOL & VEGETABLE GARDEN:

The house is set within a beautiful private grounds of approximately 4,000 m², exclusively for the use of our guests, with a fully enclosed garden of around 1,000 m².

Life here is also lived outdoors, with different places to sit and relax, covered porches and terraces, trees and flowers, a private swimming pool, outdoor dining area and barbecue. The pool has safety fencing.

The garden also includes a small organic vegetable garden where, depending on the season, you may pick some fruit, vegetables and herbs to use in your cooking.
It is a place to spend time without having to make plans. The special thing is simply being here: reading in the shade, taking a swim, cooking with local produce, picking whatever is in season from the vegetable garden, eating outdoors, strolling around the garden or simply sitting and listening to the birds while watching the changing light over the valley.

And when you feel like walking a little further, there is no need to take the car: peaceful walking trails begin just a few metres from the house, surrounded by nature and opening onto the green Galician landscape.

A PEACEFUL BASE FOR EXPLORING GALICIA:
A Casa da Chavella is located in Verdillo, a peaceful rural setting just:

• 35 minutes from Santiago de Compostela
• 45 minutes from Fisterra

The house is very easy to reach. It is just 5 minutes from the motorway, and your GPS will take you directly to the front door.

BEACHES & SURROUNDINGS:

Just 12 minutes by car is Razo-Baldaio Beach, one of the best wild beaches in Spain. It forms part of a protected natural area and, at almost 6 km long, is one of the longest beaches in Galicia. It features dunes, marshes and a saltwater lagoon which, under certain conditions, becomes a large natural swimming pool that children and adults alike love.

From the house, many other beautiful beaches in the area are also easily reached by car.

And if you enjoy walking, trails begin just a few steps from the house, offering peaceful walks with open views and an environment that invites you to slow down and reconnect with the Atlantic landscape.

ACTIVITIES & WALKS:

The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, including surfing, horse riding, kayaking, cycling and walking along beaches, through countryside and across woodland.

One particularly recommended route is the Ruta dos Pinos do Mar, a coastal trail running parallel to the ocean between Caión and Malpica. Part of the route crosses the dunes and continues along the beach, allowing walks of up to 6 km beside the sea.

The area is ideal for outdoor activities such as surfing, horse riding along the beach, gentle walks and cycling, with the Atlantic always close by and the freedom to adapt each day to your own pace.

At Razo Beach, you can book surf lessons and hire bicycles.

STRATEGIC LOCATION:

A Casa da Chavella is well connected by motorway and, thanks to its strategic location, is an excellent base for exploring different parts of the Galician coast — including the Rías Altas, Rías Baixas and A Costa da Morte — as well as inland Galicia.

LIGHTHOUSES, COASTAL VILLAGES & A COSTA DA MORTE:

From the house, you can easily reach some of the most iconic lighthouses of A Costa da Morte, including Fisterra, Punta Nariga, Cabo Vilán and O Roncudo, as well as small fishing villages and towns with a strong local character.

Just 5 minutes by car is Carballo, the main town of the area, with all the services you may need: thermal spa, medical centre, hypermarkets, supermarkets, local shops, restaurants, tapas bars, swimming pools, a shopping centre with shops and cinemas, padel courts and a golf course just a few kilometres away.

If you would like to eat out, there are good options very close to the house, from family-run restaurants to Michelin-starred establishments. In Verdillo itself, in Carballo and at Razo Beach, you will find restaurants where you can also order food to take away.

Every Thursday and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, a local market is held in the town hall square, offering fresh, locally produced food and other regional products. It is well worth a visit.
