The Slattery family makes you feel immediately at home. The beauty of the setting is second to none. The food is excellent. A wonderful place just to get away, and the Slatterys' personal touch means we will visit again and again. Exceptional.
I loved every minute of this stay. The hotel has quite the history and it was wonderful to be there. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are over the top comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff are more than accommodating and are very service oriented. Excellent communication. A+++++.
Absolutely beautiful property, really idyllic setting. The staff were amazing, especially Claire who helped us plan our trip around the Ring of Kerry drive and was happy to give lots of travel advice.
Very nice property beautifully sited on lake edge. Staff were wonderful. Harks back to ‘old world’ living as if you were living in the late 19th century.
This was an absolutely perfect, peaceful & secluded location for our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a great view of a serene lake, the food was excellent, and the staff were most friendly and attentive.
Beautiful secluded setting, very well kept historic building, staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Wish we would have scheduled to have dinner with them rather than on our own. Also, perfect location to get an early morning start on Ring of Kerry tour.
Great experience with very nice accommodation and food. Breakfast very good ! Nice and calm stay including very good service. Yes, could stay here again !
We had a wonderful guests. Frank and Mary have a beautiful Country House. The views, food and coziness was perfect - and even got recommendations on how to continue our trip and what to check out in. Thanks very much. We will be back!

Only OK at Carrig House
Siobhan was a great member of staff we met on arrival - very friendly and helpful.
Expensive hotel for what it was - a bit dated, bedroom a bit cluttered with furniture of little use taking up too much room. Went to living room to read at around 11 and have a drink - staff member put main overhead light on for us (a bit bright and not cosy) and after that we saw no-one else to order another drink - suggest leave low level comfortable lighting on in living room in the evening.
We were travelling around West Cork and Kerry for a few days (we have lived in both counties) and enjoyed much better service, comfort, facilities and customer service and for better value.
Dinner was very good with lovely views from the dining room.
We were really looking forward to coming here, but left a bit disappointed (and conversely felt the opposite at other hotels we stayed in on same trip) Possibly time to change the model
The Carrig Country House was a simply lovely small hotel with very friendly staff and a wonderful location. It was a delight to stay there and we were sorry to have only booked for one night. I'd definitely recommend the Carrig for a relaxing stay and wonderful dining.
We absolutely loved our stay at Carrig Country House. We felt like we were transported to a magical place the minute we drove down the drive and saw the beautiful gardens and lake. The staff was helpful, the food was delicious and the views amazing! Convenient to so many sights in Kerry. I wish we had known how amazing it was and we would have stayed 2 nights!

Not what we expected
The people were very kind and breakfast was nice. The room itself was less than expected for the rating most people gave. It was very old fashioned but not in a charming way but in a way that needs updating and a refresh.
Wonderful place on the lake. Frank and his staff were so accommodating and the facilities and food were brilliant. A definite must stay when in this region
This B&B is a treasure. A lovely Victorian house expanded into a hotel. The owners and staff are most friendly and accommodating. The reception rooms are inviting and comfortable. Our room was spacious, quiet , clean and comfortable and the onsuite bath was updated.
A gourmet restaurant was a most pleasant surprise and did not disappoint. The dining room has tables near the windows facing the lake for a view of the lake.
There is no cell phone reception here and that can be a plus for those who wish to escape from the demands of job and/or family.
This was our favorite hotel in Ireland.
