Las Olas - Perfect Getaway

Perfect location, short ride to the beach. Comfy beds, lots of towels, large kitchen with all of the amenities, amazing view of the sunset. On our one rainy day we had a lot to keep us busy, pool table, ping pong, xbox and TV. Would definitely stay here again!

The perfect vacation

Great Family Vacation !!

This was our third visit to the island and second to Los Olas. It is a great vacation for families with kids of all ages. The house is has everything families need for entertainment and relaxation. The house is well taken care of and the kitchen had everything we needed for large family cooking! We highly recommend staying at Los Olas!

Great property. The pool was awesome.

Great pool, the screened in sitting room was awesome. We would happily go back. my only complaints (and these are minor) are that he's having issues with the big golf cart (seems to be ongoing) and the house is missing a few smoke detectors.

Fabulous Dream House on North Captiva!

We had a group of eight at Las Olas and had an absolutely perfect vacation. The accommodations are wonderful and just as listed and pictured. The adults and children alike loved the proximity to the beach (enjoyable 1 minute golf cart cruise,) pool, hot tub, pool table, ping pong, etc. After touring the island, I didn't see any other house with as much to do. The house is extremely nice. And yes, the bedding is super comfortable. We will not think twice about returning to Las Olas.

Beautiful! A Tropical Paradise

My family of 10 loved Las Olas! Beautiful property - plenty of room for our large crew! Regal décor, luxurious beach and bath towels, beach chairs and umbrellas provided, comfortable beds, breathtaking views from the large screened lanai. The pool and lounge area were big hits after trips to the beach. Many pool and ping pong tournaments! Everyone loved taking golf cart rides all around the island. Lush foliage and exotic wildlife. It truly is another world! We will be back!

North Captiva Rental Review

The house is beautiful and well-taken care of by the owner, who is also very quick to respond to e-mails and answer questions. The owner is also very welcoming and met us at the ferry to help with our bags. The island is very isolated which creates a very relaxed and private vacation. There are only 4 restaurants and no grocery stores on the island so there is more planning involved with this vacation. In that end, it creates an adventure and wonderful memories to last us a lifetime! We would return in a heartbeat!

Amazing!

Las Olas is truly an amazing home! All the special details made this home a wonderful place to spend time. The kids were entertained with all the extras (pool, ping pong table and pool table, and the ring toss!) while we enjoyed the spending time on the beautiful porch. Meal time was made so easy. Everything we needed was right there. Steve was very easy to work with and has left nothing undone. We loved our North Captiva and will definitely be back!

Very Family Friendly. Our 5th stay on the island and best yet. Be patient with golf carts, they can act up but Steve quick to respond. Also suggest discussing with Steve to help clean the pool in the AM when filter is running.. Pool has great privacy with the tress, but can leave some minor debris if you like a clean swim. Fantastic Experience.

Beautiful home in a beautiful spot. Loved the house. We had 4 young boys to keep busy but access to beach was easy and they had a blast. Andrew and Steve was super helpful. We arrived very late and left early and they didn't complain at all about having to accommodate our group. Thanks for a great experience. house is beautifully decorated with lots of beautiful pieces. We were a little nervous one of the boys would break something but it did make for wonderful surroundings.

Beautiful home with incredible views

We rented Las Olas for just our family of 4, and it was perfect. The kids spent hours each day swimming in the pool, playing ping pong, or playing pool. The large screened in deck off the kitchen was the perfect spot to eat, play games and just relax. Everything you needed was provided in this home. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed and luxurious. The location is just a quick walk or golf cart ride to a beautiful beach and cool sandbar where we watched dolphins swimming by. Highly recommend Las Olas for small or large groups! It was a great place for our family to just completely unwind and spend time together.

Family Vacation on Captiva Island at Las Olas

I highly recommend Las Olas on North Captiva Island. It was even more beautiful than the pictures could capture. The house was very clean and had plenty of room and plenty to do! The island is incredibly beautiful and we had a great location to enjoy it from. The view were amazing. I loved being so close to the nature preserve and the beaches. My kids had endless fun with the pool, hot tub, ping pong and a pool table! we enjoyed the kayaks and the golf carts were great. The owner was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome. I searched a number of Captiva Island rentals and I am so happy we chose Las Olas for our family vacation. It was paradise. thank you! Kristan

A-O.K!

From the short ferry ride over to the island, to the warm reception by Steve and Andrew, followed by a fun golf cart ride on the sand packed roads that lead us to the fabulous house above the trees - vacation was off to a wonderful start! Not only does the island encourage you to disconnect and fully relax, our very own "tree house" provided the perfect refuge from our busy lives. We had everything we needed and got more than we expected. All rooms were very well appointed. Our bed was heavenly. The private pool was refreshing. And of course the views...BREATHTAKING! We can't wait to go back....and fish!

Las Olas - Home Away from Home

Las Olas is truly a very special home. And I stress "home", as it feels like you are staying in someone's home, vs. a rental. It is a unique mix of luxury and comfort. While we caught a cooler week, all of the house amenities kept us entertained until the weather improved. And Steve has truly anticipated every need you could have in the house. If there are questions or requests, his responses are always prompt. We have been coming to NC for 5 years, but this was our first stay at Las Olas and we hope to return next year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Wonderful time at Las Olas

We had a great time at the Las Olas property on N. Captiva Island! The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner, Steve, was great and unobtrusive. We hope that future guests are respectful of the property and of the inslanders so that all can enjoy future experiences there. We swam in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub, went sightseeing in our golf cart, and especialy enjoyed sitting on the enclosed 2nd story deck sipping coffee in the morning as the sun rose over the beautiful Gulf, and in the evening at sunset. We had also rented a boat and went fishing each day. Meandered up to Sanibel Island and ate lunch in the Bubble Room, had beverages on Cabbage Key and lunch at Barnacle Phil's on N. Captia - all were very good! We hope to return next year!

It was a wonderful Christmas at Las Olas

We could not have asked for a more wonderful time than a week over Christmas at Las Olas. The setting and furnishings were outstanding. Easy walks to the ocean, kayaking and swimming in the pool were a great break from the more "touristy" areas of Florida. We also enjoyed the spectacular sunsets from the home's upper-upper deck. What a view! My family can not wait until our next visit on North Captiva and Las Olas. Whether you are party of adults, or adults with young children, you can't go wrong with Steve Muse's home. There's something for everyone to enjoy. Our family has traveled all over the globe and we've unanimously concluded that this was our best vacation ever. Thanks, Steve, for sharing your wonderful property with us.

Well appointed and maintained!

This was our first trip to peaceful North Captiva and Los Olas was the perfect place for us! It is very well appointed - lots of bath and beach towels, plenty of paper towels and toilet paper, great knives in the kitchen and any appliance and pot or pan you would need, games and books, 2 extra beverage refrigerators (one at the pool & one in the living room), kayaks, heated pool, beach chairs and, of course, the golf carts! It made our trip so much more relaxing. You can tell that the owners take great pride in the home and keep it so well maintained. We had 2 families of 5 (3 kids under 12 each) and it was a great fit. We especially enjoyed the view from the crows nest and the location of the home - close to the beach but quiet. The owners were very responsive whenever anything came up. We are already planning our next trip back!

Las Olas, North Captiva Island

We stayed at Las Olas for a week in March 2011. It was a little piece of paradise! The house is well maintained and equipped with all that you need. All that is required to bring are groceries and clothes and you are set! We had two familes share the house and had plenty of room. The view from the screened deck was lovely- the perfect spot to watch the sunset. We made great use of the beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs. The children enjoyed the heated pool and relaxing on the hammock as well as playing ping pong. The beach is just a few houses away. We were able to take a long hike on the nature trail and saw bald eagles, tortoises, and plenty of dolphin. We will be back for sure and look forward to booking at Las Olas again! Thank you Steve for being so accomodating and opening your home to our family! I would highly reccommend this property to my friend or relative.

Misleading

We chose this place because of the amenities and they were misleading. The hot tub was not even working. It looked messy with pool hose and not even full of water. Along with that, the golf cart broke down and we were without one for a couple of days. We had nine people staying there so this was a bit of an inconvenience. We notified the VRBO contact about the issues when we returned and never heard anything back.
