Excellent breakfast, and staff. Air conditioning was kind of hot.

The staff at Hotel Maximus were extremely polite, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. They were by far the highlight of our experience. The room was surprisingly spacious for Rome, which we appreciated. However, it was not as clean as we expected. The biggest drawback was the location. Although it is relatively close to the main train station, it is far from most of Rome’s main attractions. The neighborhood is not very tourist-oriented, and we didn’t feel particularly comfortable walking around at night. One evening, there was no hot water for showers, which was very disappointing after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, we found our stay disappointing, even for a three-star hotel. While the staff were excellent, the location, cleanliness, and hot water issue significantly affected our experience.

Property was clean, small breakfast (included) area but there was always a seat. You could also go to their larger hotel Nextdoor if you like but was not necessary. Staff were all friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful. Located within 20-30 minutes walking from all major monuments except Vatican City (50 min walking, 25 by train).

The rooms are very nice. However basic amenities in the room such as a soap dish, shower cap, cotton wool etc were not available. The gym was not open and nor was there a restaurant on site. Breakfast was very basic. I think this was all because the hotel has only just reopened from a major refurbishment.

The hotel was in a great location and the staff members were helpful. The floor of the room was sticky and dirty. There was no soap in the shower on the day we arrived.
