We really enjoyed our fall getaway here. If you love walking and biking, this neighborhood is great. It is also close to Sunset point which is wonderful to visit too.
We had a fantastic long weekend, the spot was perfect for us, and the yard is peaceful and full of natural beauty. We loved having fresh herbs from the garden.
We were very comfortable in the house, needing nothing. Mel was very responsive to any questions. And we walked to the beach several times a day, as well as the lighthouse and state park. Perfect location!!!
Wonderful space -- open living room with huge windows, nice grounds with gardens and trees providing plenty of privacy. Great front porch and back deck for eating, hanging out, reading . . Cozy bedrooms, comfortable beds. Well-outfitted and generously-stocked kitchen. Nice attention to detail with plenty of birding and beach gear, and very close to interesting shopping and to beaches. Attentive and thoughtful host.
We couldn't have asked for a better week--great weather, wonderful location and the house was perfect for us. The hosts have created a comfortable and attractive nest for their guests. The house was clean, well-organized, and very appealing. When we had a minor glitch at the beginning of our stay, the hosts were immediately responsive. We loved walking to the beach to watch the sunset. We would definitely go back!
The area was perfect. Easy to find, very peaceful and quiet.
The house was, well, different than any other vacation rental I've stayed in. There was so. much. stuff. The closets were filled with bulbless lamps, vacuum cleaners, and pieces of art, while the cabinets were stuffed with dishes. Usually in rentals you can't find enough stuff to use in the kitchen, not this one. It was just kind of strange and funny. There were no dressers. We couldn't find anywhere to really put things... so clothes were put on an extra kitchen chair, and groceries were piled on the table. There was just assorted stuff everywhere. It was kind of annoying. The floor was very sandy when we got there.
BUT. The bathrooms were VERY clean, with great water pressure. (And lots of stuff in the vanities haha).
The yard was super overgrown.
It seemed like someone is in the middle of renovating this property. Patched holes not yet painted, broken curtain rods.
Anyway, it really wasn't a bad place to stay. Just a little quirky. But we were able to relax, sleep, cook, and do all the things you should at a house. Who goes to Cape May to stay indoors anyway?
The house is in a great location close to everything on a short bike ride or two minute drive. The house was great for our family and the owners very prompt to communicate.
This house has everything needed for a comfortable stay for a small family. The location is excellent for access to beaches, great biking, nature hikes, sunset watching, and enjoying the many birds of Cape May. The owner is very responsive and helpful.
Our stay was fine because the weather was great. The property manager was very nice but the house needs things- better organization in kitchen, better cleaning the kitchen garbage pail was awful it smelled horrible and need to be cleaned or thrown out.. the flowers in front brought bees and it was really the only place to eat .. fortunately it was nice out.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. The house was open and bright even on a rainy day. It was well equipped for our needs and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive to all my questions.
We were delighted with a true “home away from home” experience. My son and my daughter-in-law and I were pleased with how no-stress our mini break from our teaching turned out. We are refreshed for the second half of the semester!
Thanks
Jane
The classiest, most beautiful summer rental we've ever stayed in. Enjoyed hanging out in the main living areas and both decks. Beautiful deck-scaping, and a watering system that allows for lush groupings of flowers and herbs. No dumb "Life's a Beach" signs -- instead, beautiful original art --landscapes and abstracts. No dumb romance novels -- fabulous literature that we could have stayed for months and not gone through. Fun games: we had a lot of fun playing the Cape May version of Monopoly. Elegant linens and all we needed for the house and the beach...including for our 5-year-old grandson. Well-supplied kitchen, too. Easy upkeep! And fabulous location -- out of the downtown craziness of Cape May, and in the heart of a charming residential neighborhood and very doable walk to several beaches of Cape May Point. A wonderful vacation for this 3-generation family.
